Superintendent
Wescott Named National Blue Ribbon School
The Northbrook/Glenview School District 30 Board of Education recognized and celebrated Wescott School being honored as a Blue Ribbon School for Exemplary Performance. Mrs. Artz shared the Board of Education’s excitement for the upcoming Wescott Blue Ribbon Assembly in November after the official award ceremony. In addition, Dr. Wegley celebrated our second Blue Ribbon Award in the past two years!
Personnel Report

- The Board also approved the resignations of Anaizabelle Kleidorfer (IA) and Christine Erickson (IA), along with two leave requests that will occur during this school year.
Budget Hearing and Approval
The Board held the required annual budget public hearing and formally approved the fiscal year 2022-23 budget that follows our financial projections and strategic plan. The operating budget includes $31,098,077 in projected receipts/revenues and $31,836,964 of disbursements/expenditures. This planned operating deficit of $738,887 includes a one-time transfer of $2,374,409 for the repayment of debt certificates that supported the creation of the District Office and capital improvement costs to close out the Elementary Capacity Project.
Proposed Northbrook Luxury Apartment Development
The Village of Northbrook informed District 30 about development plans for the former W. W. Grainger, Inc. property, including a five-story, 335-unit luxury apartment complex with 215 1-bedroom, 84 2-bedroom, and 36 3-bedroom units. The Board of Education thanked the Village of Northbrook for the opportunity to review the developer’s proposal. It is the practice of the Board to provide feedback on school-related impacts, including the anticipated number of new students while supporting the Village of Northbrook’s public input and decision-making process. Dr. Wegley noted that our demographer estimates 30 elementary and 12 middle-school students, which exceeds the developer’s projection of 16 and 9, respectively.
