Thank you!
This past week, we held our first Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Access (DEIA) Committee Meeting and it was a success! Our parents came together and discussed the growing need to continue to emphasize the importance of DEIA and how it relates to our learning community. I want to recognize our PTSA Vice President, Jill Nunes for working with Lincoln Middle School and spearheading this important initiative. Thank you to all the parents who attended and we hope to see you and others at our next meeting, scheduled for Friday, October 20th at 9:30am in the Library Classroom.

Nallely Gutiérrez, Community Liaison
Place of Birth: Oaxaca, MĂ©xico
Years at Lincoln: 2
Favorite Educator: My ancestors and familia- I was taught by my elders to love where I came from so I would know where I was headed because if I knew this, I would be able to help many of our people. They were not wrong, when we are not in school I put to use my medical and legal interpretation to work for the zapotec and spanish speaking communities throughout California.
Fun Fact: I speak Zapotec (which will die if I do not teach my children how to speak it). This is the original way of writing my name and its meaning Nadxieli= Nallely = I Love you. I love hiking in Monterey County.
Christian Oseguera, Teacher
Place of Birth: Cherry Point, North Carolina
Years at Lincoln: 15
Favorite Educator: Currently, my favorite teacher is Mrs. Greenfield. Her kindness, knowledge and energy often leave me inspired to be more. I will always be indebted to her.
Fun Fact: Recently introduced to Pickle Ball and Fried Tofu.
Sara Greenfield, Teacher
Years at Lincoln: 23
Favorite Educator: Ms. Gilbert, my 11th grade English teacher. She had a project called the "Big Mama" that terrified and thrilled us! She was dramatic, knowledgable, and challenged us to think both analytically and creatively. Her energy filled the classroom, sparking curiosity and a sense of possibility. She taught until she was 94! Two of her former students memorialized her by creating the Star Wars character Maz Kanata, a big-hearted, but stern alien.
Fun Fact:I love to dance, I can ride a unicycle, and I listen to the news in Spanish every morning.

Stop, Drop, and Go
Be part of the Lincoln Safety Task Force, and please volunteer during 20 minutes one day a week from 8:40 to 9:00 AM (Friday from 9:10-9:30AM).
It’s a short period of time but the BIGGEST contribution you can make towards the safety of our students.
If interested in volunteering, please go to our SignUpGenius Page for more info.
For the Safety of the children and volunteers and to keep traffic moving, please follow these reminders:
1. Pull all the way forward when you drop your child off. Do not block the staff parking entrance near the gymnasium.
2. Make sure students have their backpacks & belongings ready to exit when you stop. Drivers must remain in their vehicle at all times. Do not leave your car to open the trunk or help your children with their backpacks.
3. Do not sit and wait: Please help us maintain the flow of traffic and do not sit and wait in your vehicle.
4. Do not double park along the drop-off lane, and make illegal U-turn before/after the drop-off lane.
5. Drop your kids off earlier. There is more congestion ten minutes before school starts.
Please, remember that drop-off in the circular driveway is only for our neurodiverse students who are meeting para educators, students with mobility issues, and the school bus.
