School Photo Days Scheduled
Sprague School picture day has been scheduled for mid-February. Pictures are being taken by Stuart Rodgers, which has provided excellent service to our school for many years. Their company has been serving many other area schools and understand safety concerns and procedures during this pandemic. Student photos will be taken individually and all the safety procedures will be followed. Please fill out the Picture Order Form in advance of picture day and bring it with you to the photo shoot.
The picture day schedule follows:
- In-Person Learners - 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12
- Full Remote Learners - 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13. Remote learners need to sign up for a picture time slot using this form.
If remote students are unable to attend Picture Day on Feb. 13, the following options are available:
- Make an appointment for a private picture session at Stuart-Rodgers Photography. Stuart–Rodgers Photography contact information is on the picture order form.
- The picture we have on file from the 2019-2020 school year can be put in the yearbook if you don't want to have a professional photo taken.

Kindergarten Registration 2021
Registration for kindergarten for Fall 2021 will open Wednesday, Jan. 27. Although we do not know the conditions regarding COVID for the Fall, the district will offer a half day and full day kindergarten at this time. This may change depending on the state of the pandemic later this year.
There is no lottery for full day kindergarten. Anyone who would like full day kindergarten for their children will be enrolled. Tuition for full day kindergarten is $3,500 a year. We will notify parents about early childhood registration once the date has been set. Returning student registration for students currently enrolled in a D103 school will take place in the spring. All registration this year will take place through our online portal. Details on registration will be coming.
Masks Required at School
All visitors, employees, and students must wear a mask upon entering school property whether outdoors and indoors. A proper fitting mask is required - neck gaiter masks, masks with openings or exhalation valves, and face shields are not considered an acceptable form of protection. Please review District 103 guidelines for student masks.
Show Us Your Kindness
Sprague students have been encourage to complete acts of kindness during the month of January and build their own chain of kind deeds. As students complete their acts of kindness, they can cut, color, and attach their links together to complete a kindness chain to hang in their homes.
There are different ways that students can show their kindness from little deeds of helping their family to bigger acts of kindness like writing cards to veterans, nursing homes, and more. Please send photos to Communications Coordinator Margaret Van Duch at mvanduch@d103.org or text them to her at 847-791-3749.

Library Open to All Students
We are excited to connect your child with great books from our school library!
After filling out this Google form, our goal is for your family to receive 4 of their 10 wishlisted books, which will be checked out to your child for a 2-week period. The books you receive will depend on availability.
To search our catalog, please visit the Follett Destiny website and click "Laura B. Sprague School" (do not click on the little ribbon flag shape). From there, you can search by topic, title, or author. We encourage you to check the availability listed on the right-hand side. For more info and specific directions for searching, you can watch an instructional YouTube video.
If you do not see a book you are searching for, we encourage you to check Vernon Area Public Library, Aspen Public Library (Cook Memorial), Ela Public Library, or Deerfield Public Library.
Availability is constantly changing, which is why we ask that you provide us with 10 requests, in hopes of being able to check out 4 from your list.
When in-person school is in session, in-person students will receive books, by delivery to their classroom and will return books by bringing them back to school.
For remote students, within a few days, 4 books will be delivered to your door by the transportation department and your family will be responsible for returning these books within 2 weeks of receipt. A cart will be placed in the Sprague vestibule, which is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday or you can return books when picking up lunches from the Transportation Department, located to the south of Daniel Wright Junior High School, Mondays from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and also Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
You are welcome to fill out this form again to wishlist 10 more books upon returning the previous checkout.
