Energy Drinks
http://www.energyfiend.com/energy-drink-side-effects
Energy drinks might seem like a great idea for staying awake or giving yourself an extra boost, but the impact of energy drinks could be a bigger concern. Drinking or eating too much of anything is bad for you or could have a harming effect. On the energy label it clearly states that the consumption of too many energy drinks can cause many symptoms. These are the common side effects from various energy drink labels: Palpitations / tachycardia, Tremor / shaking, Agitation / restlessness, Gastrointestinal upset, Chest pain / ischaemia, Dizziness / syncope, Paraesthesia (tingling or numbing of the skin), Insomnia, Respiratory distress, Headache.

Each brand of energy drinks uses different ingredients to make their product. Caffeine affects the central nervous system, by blocking the messages that tell your brain you’re tired. Energy drinks contain three to five times as much caffeine that is in cola. The highest concentrations of caffeine are in energy shots.

Protein Shakes; Good or bad?
Many people, mostly young men and teenage boys, might want to gain muscle for different sports. Protein shakes can be an easy and simple solution to their problems. They can just drink a few a day and it can help. The problem isn’t really the protein shakes, but its the proportions people drink them. The one only reason why protein shakes are leaning more towards the negative side is that athletes take too much at a time and it can affect them in many ways. One main negative side effect that can happen with an athlete that drinks too much protein shakes, is that they can develop liver damage. They don’t pay attention to the recommended protein that you should get daily and go over and hurt their bodies. The recommended amount is 55 grams for men and 45 for women.
Another bad thing that it can cause is kidney damage. Just like I said before, these things only occur with people that bring outrageous amount of protein shakes daily for a long period of time. Gym junkies, people that go to the gym a lot, feel the need to get lots of protein to get bigger and that is damaging.
In one case a man explained that he felt like he was addicted to drugs and would have nausea and a short temper when not drinking the drinks. Again, this is extreme cases but things happen.
In conclusion, I just want people to be aware of how things can affect your body and damage you. It may not always happen but it is always good to be aware of everything there is to know about your body.Healthy Smoothie Recipe

Salad Dressing: Good or Bad?
Is salad dressing bad for you? The truth is, yes a lot of salad dressings are bad for you. the oils in dressing consist of one or more of the following: canola, corn oil, sunflower oil, soy oil, cottonseed oil, or vegetable oil. all of these oils are full of fat and are not good to put in your body. while eating a salad you think you're eating a really healthy meal but you might be mistaken. The average salad can be anywhere from 120- 420 calories per cup depending on if you put cheese, meat, or nuts, this is not counting the dressing. for one teaspoon of original ranch dressing it is 73 calories, but for fat free dressing it is only 17 calories.
What is in Salad dressing? Many dressings are oil-based, which means they are high in fat content. If you use these kinds, pay attention to serving size. See if you can get by with a tablespoon or two instead of smothering your salad. You can also buy lowfat or nonfat dressings, which depending on the type may be just as good or have somewhat less flavor than their original types.
Are there better things to replace salad dressing? Salsa is very low calorie, plus a great way to get extra vegetables in your diet! Vinegar has no calories. Mustard is very low calorie. There are other mustards beyond standard yellow mustard such as gourmet varieties. some grocery store sells small bottles of different-flavored mustards like "whole grain" and "champagne dill" these are very tasty and low in calorie. and they work great as salad dressings! yogut dressing is very low in calories and very tasty!
