LEVELING UP IN 2020
Howdy Hounds!
We hope everyone had a great week! Time is quickly flying!
We had a great Friday celebrating our December Golden Paw recipients. Don't forget to check out the video below to see who was selected for this month...also a special shout out to Ms. Jurkowski for receiving the staff Golden Paw Award this month!
Please remember that elementary parents have until December 18th to access Family Access in Skyward and submit the Instructional Change Form for the 3rd nine weeks. If you would like to make a change from virtual to on-campus instruction, or vise versa...please be sure to submit the form during this window.
We hope your Hounds have come home talking about the Good Character Parties next week. Our students have been working hard to earn Character Cash to attend the party. If your child will be participating, they can bring a small pillow and blanket (must fit in their backpack) for the popcorn and movie party. We are excited to celebrate our hounds' good character!
In honor of the holiday season, students may wear school appropriate holiday festive shirts, dresses, etc. next week. Don't forget that Friday is Polar Express Day, and students can wear their PJs to partake in the fun! Please continue to abide by the LCISD Dress Code Policy.
We looking forward to celebrating the last school week of 2020 in style!
Sincerely,
Bethany Cunningham
Principal
Cranium Club continues the week of December 14th. If your child participates, please have them here promptly at 7:00 so that our groups can get started.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
As always, our Huggins community has been wonderful in supporting our Angel Tree! We received an overwhelming amount of support this year from not only our Huggins families but also the community at large. We hope everyone continues to spread joy throughout the holiday season!
With new students enrolling and families that have recently transitioned to on-campus instruction, please see the map below to review our car line procedures. Please be sure that you are utilizing Charger Way and not u-turning at the Irene Stern Community Center. Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and effective car rider line.
Please note that our doors open at 7:00am. To help the flow of our car rider line, please ensure that your child is ready to exit the car by having their mask on when you pull up. A reminder that our school day ends at 2:55pm this year. We are now dismissing at our standard time. We appreciate your patience as we continue to maximize the effectiveness of our car rider line. With the changes in protocols due to Covid-19, it is taking some additional time to load cars, as students are being dismissed from their individual classrooms.
Smart Tag Parent Portal (repeat)
The Parent Portal for SMART Tag was opened on Monday, September 21ST. Parents can now register and view their child’s ridership information via the Parent Portal. Parents may see when and where their child got on and off the bus via a webpage on their computer or smart device. They may also receive notifications via text that the bus will soon be at their morning stop. Additional information can be found by clicking here. The link provides detailed steps, including videos, on how parents can get registered.

Face Coverings (Repeat)
Students are required to bring two dress code approved masks/face coverings daily. One will be worn, and one additional mask/face covering will be brought in a sealed/ziploc bag. Labeling of the masks with a student name is suggested.
Mask questions we have received:
Can my child wear a face shield? Full-face shields may be used in place of a mask to protect eyes, nose, and mouth whenever a mask is not feasible or whenever the education context may benefit from the ability to see an individual’s full face.
Can my child wear a neck gaiter/buff? Yes, these are also approved.
Does the mask have to be a Huggins uniform color? No. Masks may be any color or design. However, no inappropriate language or images will be allowed.
***Please note that BSN Sports has graciously donated Huggins Hounds lanyards that will be given to students on the first day of school. Students will be able to use these lanyard to attach their masks so that they do not get lost.
Please click below for more information regarding face coverings.
