Welcome Raiders!
Block Schedule Updates!
Welcome back, Raiders! We have some exciting changes this year and wanted to be sure to get those reminders out to you before school begins.
First, we have officially transitioned to a block schedule. This will be an A/B day block schedule, with 4 periods per day. Some of the benefits of this schedule include: more time in class to work on curriculum, more time with teachers for questions and support, and the opportunity to earn more credits towards graduation. We are very excited to increase student achievement with a change to our daily schedule. Mondays will remain a Late Start schedule, with school beginning at 9:10 am. Tuesday through Friday our starting time will move to 8:00 am in order to ensure that students across the district can get to schools on time. Monday through Friday we will release at 3:00 pm.
Our 2023-2024 bell schedule can be seen below and can be found here:

Additionally, the school calendar that includes breaks, holidays, and A/B days, can be found here:
First Day for 9th Graders
We're excited to welcome this year's freshmen for their first day of school on Tuesday, September 5th, from 8:00am to 3:00pm. This "freshman only" day will include team building activities with our student Link Crew leaders, a chance to meet all of their teachers and see their classrooms, a school tour, and an assembly. We can't wait to meet you, Class of 2027!
First Day for 10th-12th Graders
All students, in grades 9-12, will join us for school on Wednesday, September 6th. This will be an "A" day, so students will only attend periods 1-4. RHS Staff is so excited to welcome everyone back. It's going to be a great school year, Raiders.

Attendance Information
This year we have doubled our attendance office team! We want to ensure that your students' absences are being updated as quickly as possible. This is for your information and for overall student safety. If you need to excuse your student's absence, the easiest way to contact our office is through ParentSquare, located here: Unify All Communication Tools - ParentSquare
Additionally, you can call the attendance office at 503-667-3186, ext. 1076. to speak with one of our Attendance Secretaries and/or leave a voicemail.
If your student needs to leave school during the school day for an approved reason/with permission, they should always check out at the Attendance Office before leaving campus. In case of emergency, this allows us to know who is on campus and who has left the premises and allows our Attendance Office staff to excuse missed classes accordingly.
School-wide Expectations
Closed Campus
We all care deeply about student and staff safety at Reynolds High School. One way we are making safety a school-wide focus this year will be by working to enforce our Closed Campus policies and procedures. Students are safest when they are on campus, in their correctly assigned location, and supervised by RHS staff.
Here's a quick reminder of Reynolds High School's Closed Campus expectations:
- All students are expected to remain ON campus throughout the school day, including during lunch, unless they have an approved off-campus pass.
- All students must enter RHS via the front doors (Main Office) during school hours. All other exterior doors are locked and are only to be used in emergencies.
- Only 11th and 12th grade students are eligible for off-campus passes. Students must have parent permission and be on-track with grades and attendance to apply for off-campus passes.
- The park next to the high school (Columbia Park/Imagination Station) is not part of the RHS campus and is an off-limits area during the school day. Imagination Way is a public street, and Columbia Park is owned and operated by the City of Troutdale.
- Other areas/activities on campus that are off limits during the school day to ensure safety, include: athletic fields, dugouts, parking lots, parked cars, etc.
- Students returning from off campus or from unauthorized areas without a valid pass are subject to disciplinary measures.
- Students being picked up during the school day by a guardian must sign out at the Attendance Office and leave through the main entrance only.
Additional, specific information regarding closed campus expectations, off-campus passes, and open/free periods will be shared with students during their first POWER lessons of the school year. Please talk with your student(s) about their role in helping create a safer RHS by being where they are supposed to be at appropriate times.
Entrances & Exits
For the safety of all students and staff, the Main Office entrance, located on the East side of the campus, is the only entrance and exit students and visitors should use. All other entrances/exits are for emergencies and staff use only. We want to ensure safety for all students and staff, so ALL other external doors will be monitored throughout the day. Students should NEVER open external doors to let anyone into buildings on campus. Students found doing so may face disciplinary action.
Parking Information
If your student is driving to school, please see important information regarding parking here. In order to lawfully park on campus, students must complete a parking pass and attend the information session. For questions, please contact the main office.
