Honoring our Veterans
We are less than one month away from a very special program that honors all our WHE Veterans. For any WHE staff member or student who would like to honor a veteran and share their photo in our slide show, please send the following information below to Mrs. Morgenroth no later than November 04, 2019. This is important to allow time for editing and preparation for putting on a program that celebrates all of our heroes. While we want to honor all our veterans, we cannot guarantee that late submissions will be included in the program.
Please include the following information:
1. Name of the veteran (ex: John Smith or Jane Doe)
2. Student Name and grade (Woody Wonder 4th grade)
3. Relationship to student (ex: grandfather or mother)
4. Branch of service (ex: USN or USMC)
5. Rank (ex: Master Chief, Commander, First Class Petty Officer)
6. Years of Service (ex: 1995-1999)
7. Upload one photo (.jpg file)
K-2 Literacy Assessments
In the reading process, there are a variety of skills that are critical in becoming a successful reader. During K-2 parent conferences, your child's teacher will share a "Student Reading Progress" report with you. The purpose of this report is to share your child's progress over time in key reading areas. To learn more about the new Humble ISD Student Reading Progress report, see the Parent Video (YouTube).
Parent Conferences
November 01, 2019
Please look for an email from your student's homeroom teacher for a Sign Up Genius link to schedule a parent conference. This is such a perfect opportunity to discover your student's talents, find out if they have any challenges, and get caught up on some of the skills taught throughout the school year.
What's Going on at WHE
WHE Enchanted Storybook Land
On October 31st, WHE will transform into an Enchanted Storybook Land. All students are invited to dress up as a favorite storybook character. Kinder, first, and second grade students will walk in our Storybook Character Parade in costume with their corresponding book, while our 3rd-5th graders cheer them on. We invite parents to line up along our school sidewalk along the Plum Valley side playground to watch. The parade will begin at 8:15.
Please keep in mind that costumes should be worn to school, and must be appropriate for elementary age children and in good taste. Students must wear shoes, and shorts should be worn over tights. Guns, other weapons, skates and skateboards are not allowed. Masks need to be removed during instructional class time. Please make sure that your child’s costume will not interfere with his/her safety or learning. We look forward to seeing everyone dressed up!

A Message from Your PTA
Hello Parents,
I hope everyone had a great break and got back into the swing of school smoothly!
Thank you for being an amazing community, because of y’all we were able to raise $550.00 dollars for families and teachers that flooded.
Spirit night at Chick-fil-A looked to be a success so thank you for coming! In fact, WHE made $109.95 at our Chick-fil-A Spirit Night! We look forward to seeing everyone at our next Spirit Night on November 19, 2019. Please join us at Paco Pops from 2:00pm - 8:00pm
General Meeting! We are meeting on October 29th at 6:15 before the drum fit performance. Please make plans to attend if at all possible! We look forward to seeing everyone there.
November 1st is parent teacher conferences! The PTA will be doing a pumpkin smash from 10 am - 12 pm and 4 pm - 6 pm. Pumpkins are $5 each and there will be multiple ways to smash them! Pumpkins will be limited and we will put an announcement on our Facebook page if we run out so no one wastes a trip. Since our pumpkins are a donation, we cannot guarantee the amount. We invite you to like our Facebook page!
As always we are looking for volunteers to help with our large events! Please consider joining a committee and helping whenever possible. There is no requirement to be at every meeting or help with every portion! Many hands make light work! Visit our Sign Up Genius link to choose a committee that meets your interests.
Always feel free to reach out with ideas, questions, etc...
Thanks,
Kait Burns
