WHPE September Update
Building Strong Connections: Educate. Engage. Advocate
Welcome Back to School from WHPE!
Hello Wisconsin Physical Education and Health Professionals!
Welcome back to the 2017-2018 school year! The start of school brings fresh and rejuvenated perspective to help us prepare for the new year with our students. I hope your year is off to a great start, and that you are settling in to a fabulous year at your school!
I am so excited for the upcoming WHPE Convention, as well as all the other potential professional development opportunities that WHPE will have to offer this year! One of the best parts of convention is having the opportunity to connect with so many fabulous health and physical educators throughout our state, and learning from tremendous presenters from Wisconsin and across the country. Plan to join us at the Glacier Canyon Lodge at the Wilderness Resort in October. Check out the convention links below for more information about our Keynote speaker and featured presenters, as well as other convention details. Sign up for convention today!
Enjoy this time of year with your students as our sunny, warm days give way to the cool, crisp days of fall. Make the most of all the professional learning communities that you have the opportunity to connect with. The heart and soul of our teaching comes from the innovative, collaborative ideas we gain from sharing and learning from each other. May this be your best year yet, and a year filled with significant growth and fulfillment for you as an educator! Thank you for all that you do to make a difference in the lives of your students!

The ASCD Whole Child approach is an effort to transition from a focus on narrowly defined academic achievement to one that promotes the long-term development and success of all children. It strives to enhance learning by addressing each student's social, emotional, physical, and academic needs through the shared contributions of schools, families, communities, and policymakers.Eileen Hare, WI DPI Consultant for Health, Physical Education, and Coordinated School Health
