SDHS update Nov. 22
Wellness Center Average Weekly Attendance: 250 Students
Approximately 68 Students connected to Counseling or other Resources
SDHS Wellness Center Rm#805
SDHS Wellness Center, located in room 805, focuses on the health, well-being and academic success of all students and families.
Wellness Center Goals:
Increase students’ access to support services that focus on physical, emotional, and social well-being. By providing a safe, comfortable drop-in center, all students have access to counseling and resources that promote wellness and resiliency.
Provide connections between school and community agencies to increase student and parent access to services and resources.
Offer activities, workshops, and targeted counseling groups that promote health, self-esteem, and empowerment. Coordinate guest speakers, newsletter/video announcements to school and families. Work to build a student-led wellness club.
Rm #805- Wellness Center Procedures:
- If a student asks to use the wellness center they must have a pass or they will be turned away. Clearly if there is a crisis and they don’t have a pass we will take them and call their teacher.
- Please do not write a pass the first 10 minutes of the period.
- Please use official white passes at all times. If you are out of white passes please write your extension on the pass so we can confirm.
- Please indicate the time they left on the pass. They will be allowed a break of 15 minutes and then returned to class. If they need longer we will communicate that to you via email or phone.
- If you are concerned the student is not going to the center you can write on the pass for me to call you when they arrive. You can also call/email later to make sure they arrived and when they left.
- We will write on the pass the time they arrived and the time they left which will help with accountability.
- If you would like to refer a student you are concerned about please email us or use the google form. https://forms.gle/Yi5wnfMUdR9GBsXB7
