Message From Principal Danzy:
It has been a very busy week with the end of fall seasons coming to an end. We had a great turnout for our final home game for football and were able to recognize football, dance, spirit line, and band. we currently have tryouts going on for our winter sports. Please check with the athletic office for dates and times.

No Tardy November Assembly that took place on Friday to start the No Tardy celebration for the end of the month. Spartan PRIDE was able to be disseminated to the staff and student body. Thank you for all that you do for the Vista Grande community.
Announcements:
ACT Aligned Benchmarks and Progress Checks In order to support all of our students in meeting college and career readiness benchmarks measured by the ACT our students are taking regular assessments to measure their progress. Progress checks are administered every two weeks and we will be recognizing students who score at least 5/6 on these assessments. Our next full length benchmark is scheduled for January. Students can access their scores on these assessments using these instructions.
Blackboard Access Families are encouraged to log into Blackboard to support your student’s academic progress. In Blackboard, you will be able to review your student’s classes, check assignments completed and better understand what they are learning in class. Please ask your student for their password information in order to access. If you need support in accessing your student’s password, please call (520)374-7170
POWER SCHOOL APP
We have an app for that!
Do you want real time information about attendance and grades for your student? You can
easily access using the PowerSchool App. Stay on top of assignments and participate
more fully in your student's daily progress with the PowerSchool App. Students can
download and use it too!
1. Download from your app store.
2. Enter the District Code: QJDT.
3. Enter your username and password. This will be the same username and password you use to access the web-based PowerSchool Parent Portal.

What's Cookin Mr. Danzy? Recipe by way of Ms. Amy Harrison (ELA 9 Educator)
Garlic Lime Pork Chops withL emony Brussel Sprouts and Couscous
Ingredients:
-Chops
4 1" think pork chops, trimmed
garlic, hot Hungarian paprika, chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper
zest and juice from one lime
Add all spices and bits of lime to a dish.
Coat the pork chops in the mixture.
Let marinate for 20 minutes to overnight.
Throw on the grill 4 minutes one side, 4 minutes the other, 3 minutes final flip.
Check internal temp and add time if needed.
Cook to 140 and let rest for 5 minutes.
Roasted Sprouts
Let Brussel sprouts sit in an ice bath for 10 minutes.
Pat dry.
Add garlic lemon salt and olive oil.
Roast for 20 minutes on 425 or until desired doneness.
Couscous
Follow the boxed directions.
