Welcome Back!

I am beyond excited to see everyone on Monday! I've cleared my schedule to be able to visit classrooms all day. I can't thank everyone enough for all of your support during my journey. I just completed my third round of Taxol (chemo), and I have 9 more rounds. This chemo is given to me weekly each Friday. When I have a doctor visit attached to the chemo, I will most likely be out all day (or a half-day at the least). When I don't have an appointment, I will just have to leave a little early on Friday to catch the latest appointment, which I'm able to do at Willowbrook. My doctor's closest location is her Southwest office near Bellaire, so those take more time. I also have weekly blood draws on Wednesdays and am able to do those at Willowbrook. I'll either do those at 8:30 or 4:00 (their earliest and latest appointments). I will be posting my daily schedule each day, and I'll keep you all updated as to when I have appointments. The good news is I've been feeling fine with this chemo, and I've been cleared to come back. I think working will be good for my soul because I have missed it so very much. I can't wait to see all of you and meet those of you who were hired after the year started, and of course, I can't wait to see our students.

I am planning to have a day or two when you can all stop by to chat and have snacks so that you will have the opportunity to visit and fill me in on any news you want to share. I will set that date once I'm sure it doesn't conflict with anything on the calendar.

I hope you all had a restful break filled with fun! I know our students will be happy to see you on Monday! Let's make it a great week!

This Year's IMPACT Speaker

Each year, IMPACT is represented by 10 area school districts including Cy-Fair. Again this year, the school in each district with the greatest number of pre-registered teachers and staff who attend IMPACT will receive $500. Who will be this year’s winner? To be considered for the $500 award, you must have your teachers and staff pre-registered (as noted below) by 11:59 PM on February 5, 2020. Your teachers and staff must both be pre-registered for and attend IMPACT in order for your campus to be considered for the monetary award.

The event is free for all Cy-Fair ISD employees. CFISD attendees will receive 4 off-contract professional development hours.

Please register via My Learning; the section number for registration is #32293.
