"Educational Excellence with an Environmental Emphasis"

Winter is here!

Winter is here and we are so excited! Please be sure to send your child with warm clothes every day. They will go outside for recess. They will need a coat, hat, mittens, boots, and snow pants.

Thanksgiving Break ...

A reminder that there is no school on Thursday or Friday this week due to Thanksgiving Break. We hope you enjoy the time with your family!

Please watch the following video about driving and parent pick up / drop off. We want to make sure that everyone can get to school both safely and on time.

YMCA Programming ... Differences between KeyZone and the Rec

Stowe is lucky to have 2 programming options in partnership with the YMCA. Here we would like to explain how each program works to help with any confusion.

(1) KeyZone -

Program runs M - F until 6PM

Registration is required and the program is fee-based

A spot at Rec programming is guaranteed for KeyZone Students.

(2) Rec Programming -

Program runs M, W, TH until 5:30 PM

Registration is required (opens at the start of the month on GND Rec page)

The program is free to those who would like to participate (spots are first come, first serve and your child MUST be signed up)

A spot for Rec Programming is not guaranteed

Due to staffing and safety of our students, there is no "day of" registration. Please communicate any last minute changes with staff if your child will not be attending.

Rec programming can be canceled at last minute, but scheduled KeyZone will not be canceled unless there is no school.

Picture Retake Day is coming!

November 30th will be an opportunity for students to have a picture retake. Information can be found at the front office and details were also sent home from your child's teacher.

Kindergarten was able to use the rock climbing wall for the first time last week! Incorporating movement is important for students throughout the day. Thanks to Mrs. Puglisi for all of the creative ways that she gets students moving throughout the day and during PE.

Please see attached order form for Kettle Kravings. Proceeds go to Stowe PTA for events during the school year. These make great holiday gifts!

Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Needs YOU!

The Stowe PTA needs your help! Please contact Susie Backstrom if you are interested in helping:

Joining the PTA is a great way to meet other families and to help support our school!

Watch for our upcoming popcorn fundraiser to help support family fun nights, conference dinners, staff appreciation week, book fairs, Kindergarten roundup, and many other fun activities to support students and teachers throughout the year.

COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics ...

Cold Weather / Delays / Closures ...

While we hope the cold and snowy weather stays away a bit longer, please take a moment to review school district procedures during periods of snow and cold. This information is shared with all staff and families at the beginning of the school year and is available on our website.

The decision to close or delay the start of school due to severe winter weather is made prior to 6AM.

Unless you hear an announcement over local TV and radio stations that schools are closed or delayed, you can assume that school will be in session as scheduled.

  • All families should have a contingency plan for their children in the event of weather-related school closings or a 2-hour late start.
  • When weather causes a 2-hour late start, this is for students AND school staff. Do not send your child to school before 9:30am if there is a 2-hour late start. There is no staffing to supervise prior to 9:30am.
