Texas' Road to Revolution
General Cos Arrives in Texas
General Cos was not very pleased at the Anahuc incident. He marched into Texas with many soldiers to see to the Texan threat. They stopped and settled down in San Antonio.
Grass Fight
Scouts had been sent out to survey their area. They reported that a train was heading towards to San Antonio. They suspected that it carried silver. When they captured it, it only contained grass.
Gonzales
The Mexican troops tried to take the weapons of the colonists. They also demanded that they also give their cannon. The Texans made a flag challenging them, but when they came, the Texans were ready.
Battle of San Antonio
After attacking Goliad, the Texans realized that the Mexicans were not very powerful. For this, they went to San Antonio. That was the only place were the Mexican troops still stood. At this battle General Cos asked for terms of surrender.
Conventions of 1836
The convention was at the not very colonized Washington-on-the-Brazos. The selected chair man was Richard Ellis. Once done with that they made a Declaration of Independence. They wrote what the Mexican government had deprived them of. Then they copied many of the same things as the American government.
