Kimball Hill
Week of 5/15/23
Message from the Principal
Dear Kimball Hill Families,
Our final PTA meeting of the year was a success, and I appreciate seeing all who were able to attend. A huge shout out to our PTA Board members and all families who contributed to making this year a meaningful one. Your ongoing involvement and support is what makes Kimball Hill such a special place.
It is hard to believe we are wrapping up another school year. I am so proud of the hard work and perseverance our students have shown throughout the school year. They continue to impress me each and every day, and it is truly a privilege to watch them grow and learn.
I would like to extend a Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Mothers, Grandmothers and Mother figures! We hope your day is extra special!
We appreciate your partnership and continued support! Please feel free to contact me with
questions, concerns and/or feedback.
Warmly,
Michelle LaCamera

Library Renovations
Great things are coming to the Kimball Hill library. This summer our library will be renovated! Our focus was on creating a space that allows students to engage in learning actively. The environment is both functional and inviting. Books are organized on open shelves in order to improve access and make them the stars in the space. Furnishings are flexible, ergonomic, and mobile. Learning spaces are designed around different types of activities including: whole group instruction; learning from/with peers; independent learning; and learning through hands-on application. Other improvements include: painting, and environmental graphics/signage. Check out the rendering attachment below to see the future layout.

Greetings from the NEW Assistant Principal for 2023-24
Dear Kimball Hill Community and Staff,
Greetings! It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I write this letter of introduction as the new Assistant Principal for the 2023/2024 school year. My name is Amber Danielczyk and I am truly honored to be joining the Kimball Hill family. Currently I am the Assistant Principal at Jane Addams Elementary in Palatine. Prior to my 4 years at Jane Addams, I spent 20 years as a classroom teacher in both 3rd and 5th grades at Frank C. Whiteley Elementary in Hoffman Estates. District 15 holds a very special place in my heart, as I attended Lake Louise and Winston Campus as a student and my two children attended District 15 schools as well.
Outside of my work as an educator, I am a mother of two incredible children, Rebecca (20) who transfers to Carroll University in WI in the Fall and Andrew (17) who will be moving into his Senior Year at Palatine High School. My husband Erik and I live in Palatine and love spending time with our kids and a menagerie of animals (3 cats, 1 dog and 2 horses). I have a passion for reading and the outdoors.
I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of Kimball Hill this upcoming year and in the years to come. Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my child-centered approach to support our students. I firmly believe it takes a partnership between school and home to make every student successful. With D15 Moving Forward and the addition of the Dual Language program, I recognize that there will be some challenges and/or learning curves, but I am confident that together we will continue to make Kimball Hill a safe place for students to learn and grow academically and social-emotionally. My door will always be open, and I will be here to support you and your family in any way possible. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you!
Respectfully,
Amber Danielczyk
