LAHS Virtual Clubs
Virtual Clubs: Beats, Poetry, Southern Word
Southern Word wanted to make sure all students in these clubs have an opportunity to still have some fun while you're not in the school building. Below are three opportunities that are taking place every week, starting tomorrow, March 31st. If you are in one of these clubs, ask Coach McDaniel for more information if needed.
Beat Production w/ J Pierson
Tuesdays at 3:00 pm
This is an extension of the weekly LEAD Academy beat production club with J Pierson. Open to veterans as well as new beatmakers and producers who do not normally attend or who haven’t attended for a while. Start building your next musical project while you have time on your hands.
Pilot the Producer with Saran Thompson
Fridays at 11:00 am
This session is production and collaboration as participants walk Saran through developing a track. This will utilize composition in Logic, logic-based loops, Splice, and Looperman. This will work via co-broadcasting as the students instruct Saran on what they want him to do until a full beat is made. The track will be sent out to student(s) participating in the session.
Poetry Lunch Club with Cam Mitchell and Debria Tyler This is an extension of the LEAD Academy Poetry Lunch Club open to regular club members or students who have been waiting for a free moment to get back to it. The sessions include but is not limited to: the conversation around culture and poetry, writing prompts, writing time, feedback, and chill time with your classmates. Southern Word is still busy doing virtual open mics, slams, and shows so this is also a place where you prepare for those as well.
Fridays at 12:00pm
