In addition, here are a few parameters for families as we move to fully online lessons:
Student Guidelines / Expectations
Students will:
Be online by 8:15 each morning
Attend all scheduled lessons
Wear appropriate dress - uniform is encouraged
Have a learning space at home with minimal distractions
Have name on their screen and video open while on Zoom
Demonstrate appropriate online etiquette - you are in class - school rules still apply
Email teachers when you have questions
Complete assignments
Be counted as being in attendance when you attend 50% or more of the zoom lessons that day
Parent Guidelines:
Parents will:
Provide support, however, allow your child to work independently and with minimal assistance
Our youngest children (KG1 - G1) will need more support and assistance than our older students. This is to be expected and teachers will create lessons and activities accordingly
Email teachers when you have a question - please allow for 24 hours for replies
Please understand that teachers will not be able to get back to you if you email or chat in the middle of a lesson
Assist your child in following the schedule of the day (provided by the teacher)
Assist your child in setting up a learning space with minimal distractions
Learning space should include: writing utensils, paper, student folder(s) that were brought home from school, tech device (other than phone)
Provide a device such as a laptop, desktop or tablet rather than a cell phone for your child to work from
Ensure that your child attends their lessons as we will record attendance
A student is in attendance when s/he attends 50% or more of the zoom lessons that day. If less than 50% of classes are attended the student will be marked as absent
Please be sure to contact your child's teacher, Ms Sue, Ms Nicole or Dr Troy if you have concerns.
