Data PLC: This week...finally :)
Data PLCs this week
This week's rotation for PLC is utilized to focus on reviewing student performance, calibrating educator understanding of student work, and planning for Tier 1 reteach which may either be whole group or small group. We also remember during this time that a Professional Learning Community expect shared responsibility and as such, you may even be regrouping your learners for the reteach based on need. At the beginning of this weeks meeting we will have a short training showing you how this specific PLC meeting should flow. Linked below are several documents that we will use as well as a few videos that should provide some clarity as well.
Video 1: Review of student work that reflects mastery to identify what an ideal student response looks like (These teacher exemplars should be created when the common assessments are created)
Video 2: Guiding teachers in identifying the gaps in student understanding
Video 3: Identifying the components of the ideal student response they will seek out when they reteach the content
Case Study: We will use this document to walk you through the process of seeing the educator work of having created an exemplar and then analyzing student work to determine the gap which then leads to creating a reteach plan.
Script of a Data Meeting: Here you see a shortened script that indicates the flow of a data meeting.
Agenda for Data Meeting: This follows the same flow as the script, but does not include the specifics.
Once the group has made their way through this information, the grade level team will then select a high priority standard that they have just recently taught, gather student responses, analyze the gap, and plan and practice the reteach.
