Pick Up of Student Materials
In order to facilitate parent pick-up of student materials, we will open the building the week of June 1st so that families may pick up items. Parents may want to pick up the following items:
Coats
Lunch Boxes
Medication
Report Card (if the family does not have an email address)
We will follow the schedule below to limit the number of parents in the building at a time.
Schedule
Monday, June 1 Track 1 families may pick up student materials between 10:00am-12:00pm.
Tuesday, June 2 Track 2 families may pick up student materials between 10:00am-12:00pm.
Wednesday, June 3 Track 3 families may pick up student materials between 10:00am-12:00pm
Thursday, June 4 Track 4 families may pick up student materials between 10:00am-12:00pm
We will need staff volunteers as we would like to have one staff member stationed on each hallway as parents are walking by. Email Kayla if you would like to volunteer. Staff who volunteer should wear a face covering or mask during this process. Gloves will be provided upon your arrival to school.
Families that choose to access the school building for pick up of student materials, are required to wear a face coverings and it is recommended they wear gloves. Additionally, families should limit the size of their group.
Social distancing must be followed while on campus
In some cases, parents may have items they would like to return to the school. Devices, such as hot spots or Chromebooks will only be collected if a student is not returning to a WCPSS school next year. Library books will only be collected if a student is not attending a WCPSS school next year. Rising 6th graders attending a WCPSS school next year will return library books and devices checked out to their middle school. The district will coordinate a process for return when school resumes next year.
Parents need to label the items they are returning. The district is requiring that we keep items returned from families in the school isolated within a room where they can be left undisturbed for 14 days.
We will clearly communicate in the Sunday Message that families do not need to come pick up materials if they or anyone in their home is ill or experiencing any symptoms. We can arrange for a pick up time when they are well.
Teacher Materials
The county has asked that schools communicate the items needed from teachers at the close of the school year. We will open the building on Monday, June 8th from 10-12 and Tuesday, June 9th from 10-12. If you are feeling well and comfortable coming in, you may do so to make sure we have the following items from you (see below). If you are not feeling well or uncomfortable coming in to school, please let Kayla or I know. We will work with you to get this taken care of at a later date.
Items from Teachers
Curriculum Kits
Assessment books
Instructional materials
Data Collection sources
Working files
They also want EL materials (not consumable workbooks but student texts inventoried).

Student Behavior During Remote Learning
The county has provided the following guidance around student behavior and remote learning.
Be proactive - explicitly teach norms/expectations and provide positive feedback and encouragement
Contact parents to discuss when necessary
Teachers can mute a student or remove from the session. Any removal from a session must be documented in ECATS and communicated to parents.
Only Admin can remove from synchronous learning for more than a session and only up to 3 sessions (documented in ECATS and communicated with parents). More egregious situations contact Paul Walker or myself to discuss.
