The Junior Journal - Team 2023
April 2022 Newsletter
Registration for Returning Students is now open
Registration for next year is open for returning students. Parents and Guardians should have
received an email at the beginning of March and a reminder this week if it hasn't been
completed. Please note that choosing your student's schedule for next year with a counselor is
not the same as registering your student for school with the Corporation. If you haven't filled
out this registration, please do so as soon as possible, so your student can attend BHS next
year. If you have any questions, need help completing the registration, or can't find the email
with the link, please call Mrs. Tewell at ext.1701, and she'll gladly help you with that.

Prom - May 7th - 7:30pm to 10:30pm at the Indiana Roof Ballroom
Tickets are $50 and will be sold during lunch to juniors starting Monday, May 2nd. Tickets are limited this year and will likely sell out. Students should plan to purchase tickets early. If students plan to bring a guest from another high school, they must fill out a special events guest request form. The form can be picked up in Mr. Duran’s room (SA204), Miss Burris’s room (B2-413), or our team office. All guest forms must be returned to the team office no later than Friday, April 22nd. There will be a lot of cool features at this year’s prom, including a 360 photo booth, snacks, desserts, and mocktails
Lanyard Reminder
As we finish out quarter 4 here at BHS, we wanted to give you a brief reminder of the school’s lanyard & ID policy…Lanyards and ID Cards must be displayed at all times when students are on the BHS campus. They are designed to be worn around the neck with the ID card in plain view. Replacements are available in the main office, ID cards are three dollars and lanyards are two dollars. If you forget to bring yours to school, you should go directly to your team office upon arrival at school to get a temporary lanyard or sticker. Thank you for helping to keep BHS safe by following this simple measure.
Dress Code Reminder
Clothing should be so constructed and worn in a manner that is not unduly revealing. Tops
that may NOT be worn include tank tops, muscle shirts, tube tops, halter tops, backless shirts, tops with spaghetti straps, sheer or fishnet shirts, and cut-offs or other tops which show
midriff. Plunging neck lines and excessive exposure is not acceptable. Our gauge for necklines will be 4"; the length of four fingers. All shorts, skirts, and pants should not be unduly revealing, using the fingertip rule as a guide.
Students who are in violation of our BHS dress code will be sent to the team office to put on
school-assigned attire or call a parent/guardian to bring them a change of clothes.Hats and hoods are not to be worn in the building. Any new "fads" in clothing or anything specifically covered in the above guidelines, which is considered inappropriate dress shall be dealt with at the discretion of an administrator/designee.
