The Fantastic Fourth

Reading
This week in reading we will continue to focus on summarizing fictional texts. We will also continue to assess our independent reading level.
Science
Next week in Science we will continue our study of matter. The students will work on an engineering project at the beginning of the week where they will have to create an object to keep a cup of cold water cold for two days. They use their creative thinking and problem solving skills for this! We are so excited to give them this challenge!
At the end of next week we will move into mixtures and solution and begin our exploration into the differences.

Students will have time during the school day to go down and purchase their books!

Math
Next week in math we will dive into decimals! In 4th grade we go to the hundredths place in decimals. Students are expected to be able to write, draw, add, subtract and understand numbers all the way from the hundred millions to the hundredths!
Writing
This week in writing we will complete our analyzation of the personal narrative writing rubric. We will then begin to compose a personal narrative as a class.
Social Studies
This week in social studies we will study our country’s freedom! We will analyze the Bill of Rights, and celebrate our Constitution on September 17th.
