Back-To-School Night At CB South!
National Merit Semifinalists!
Central Bucks High School South is proud to announce that four students have been named National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Congratulations to Connor Barnes, Jennifer Bilker, Sophia Wang, and Erica Werner. According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, “about 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which served as an initial screening of program entrants.” The scores of Semifinalists ranked them among the top one percent of juniors in the nation last year. These four students will now compete to become National Merit Finalists where they will be eligible for scholarships through the National Merit Corporation or its sponsoring organizations. Finalists will be announced in the Spring 2018.
CB South is Proud!

PSAT Information
The PSAT is scheduled for Saturday, October 14th at CB South. Registration for this year's test begins Friday, September 8th and continues through 7:00 AM on Monday, October 9th. The test begins at 8am but we ask all participating students to be here by 7:40 AM so the test can begin promptly at 8:00 AM.
The cost for the PSAT is $22 and registration must be completed through MyPaymentsPlus. After a student registers, he or she will receive a PSAT Practice Booklet in their Titan Forum within a few days.
Students should be prepared for the test by bringing a calculator and several #2 pencils. Extra batteries are also a good idea. The test should be completed by 11:30 AM but times may vary from room to room. Room assignments will be posted at South a few days before the test.
The Marching Titans!
This past weekend the Marching Titans traveled to Edison, New Jersey for their first competition of the season. Being the only band from Pennsylvania to compete in the opening weekend of competitions, CB South went up against various schools from Central New Jersey. Scoring a 78.650, the Marching Titans won first place and all caption awards in their division, beating the next band by three points. This weekend the Marching Titans are off from competition to perform at the CB South versus CB East football game. Their next competition will be on Saturday, September 23rd where they will perform at the home football game before heading out to Spring-Ford Area High School in the evening. Congratulations Marching Titans on a great early performance!

College Visits For Juniors and Seniors
Each year over 125 colleges come to CB South to meet with our juniors and seniors. These small-group sessions are a great way to find out more information about the individual college and get to talk directly to an admissions rep. Each visit is 20 minutes long at the end of the block and most are held in the Student Center in the main hallway.
To find the list of colleges scheduled, go to your Naviance website and click on COLLEGES. On the right side of the screen you will see the upcoming colleges visits and a link to see the complete list. Select the college you want and then SIGN UP. Your confirmation screen is your pass to leave class for the visit. Add the college name to "COLLEGES I AM INTERESTED IN" and you will receive an email reminder. The list is updated weekly so check it out often.
