The Middle Matters
OMS Parent Newsletter 2022-2023
Inspiring Excellence. Every Learner. Every Day.
Welcome to OMS!
We are so excited for the 2022-2023 school year! While the past two years have provided a plethora of challenges, we are ready for students to return. One of our main focuses for this year will be re-establishing expectations for school. Our Husky Pride matrix encompasses our expectations: Practicing Kindness, Appropriate Conduct, and Work Habits. With the implementation of no cell phones during the school day, we hope to help students focus on positive social interactions. This, along with consistency for social and behavioral expectations, will help us focus on our two main objectives: building relationships and student learning. We look forward to partnering with you to make this the best year yet!

CELL PHONES
Students will not have access to their phones from 8:10-2:40 for the 2022-2023 school year. Backpacks, phones, and winter jackets will be left in lockers. As you plan for next year, we would appreciate discussions at home with your child about phone use expectations. We feel this is the best decision for students' academic and emotional well being, and we appreciate your support in this change.

This year at OMS, lockers will be used on a daily basis. Students will use the lockers for backpacks, coats and cellphones. Below are the directions and a video tutorial on how to open a locker. You can practice at home if you would like.
