No Retreat!

We will not have a retreat this year. On August 12th, class welcome letters will be due by 2:00. They should include:

  • Your name and room number
  • Back to the Castle - August 18, 4:30 - 6:00
  • First Day of School - August 22, 7:55
  • Information about pre-purchased school supplies
  • Other pertinent information to your class or grade level

You are welcome to come up to school any time after August 6th to complete your letters, make copies, etc.

Class lists should be available to teachers by August 10th.

Something Different!

This year we are going to visit our neighborhoods with the first annual Norton Popsicle Patrol! After convocation on August 15th, we will have a catered lunch at Norton and then head out to a few pre-determined locations in the neighborhoods we serve to greet kids and hand out Popsicles. We will send out an email blast to parents the week before to let families know our schedule so they can come out and see us. Students will not yet know their class assignments, so we will smile, wave, and spread some cheer before moving on to the next location. We would love to decorate our buses with some signs so we will welcome volunteers to paint some banners on Friday, August 12th.

Personal Days - Important

As you plan for next year, please remember that our absence policy changed this year. Employees may take no more than 3 consecutive personal days. There will be no exceptions made this year. If you take more than 3 personal days in a row, you will be docked. Please plan carefully and make use of our scheduled vacation days!

Summer Hours - Reminder

· Kids Club - Kids Club will be using the Computer Lab, Gym, MPR, Sci Lab, Art Lab and the following classrooms: 130, 133, 134, 135, 136, 137, 139, 141, 143, 147, 149. They will begin setting up on Monday, June 6th. If you are impacted, please have all of your things put away/locked up/covered. They will move out of classrooms by August 5th, but will still be in the building until August 12th.

· Summer Hours - Access to the campus through your prox card will be deactivated beginning on June 13th. Your card will not work again until July 30th. The district is planning to have air conditioning back on and running from 7:30 - 4:30 daily beginning on August 6th. They will provide air on the weekends from then until the first day of school.
