Winter Weather Reminders:
Please take a moment to verify the Alert Number(s) and Early Dismissal Information is up-to-date on your Parent Portal for EVERY STUDENT in your family. This information is used in the event of inclement weather requiring school delays, closings and early dismissals. Also, outside playtime is a very important part of the total elementary school program. All pupils with the exception of Kindergarten (wind chill below 30) are expected to play outside during recesses when the temperature, corrected for wind chill, exceeds 20 degrees Fahrenheit and health permits. Parents should notify teacher by note if the child, for a short time, is not to go outside. If the excuse period is longer than 3 days, a doctor’s statement is required. Counselor's Corner:
During the month of December:
- 3rd - 6th graders will be learning about the leadership skills of working together, compromise, and accepting differences. We call this Synergize, and oh how important this skill is at home and school!
- 1st & 2nd graders will be learning the difference between tattling vs. telling.
- Kindergarten will be practicing the skills of taking turns and sharing during December.
I love helping all MRE students grow their leadership this school year. It's all about the choices we make each day! Enjoy December as we count down to the Holidays!!
