Arrival by Car Reminders
Andrews Road Arrival
Please remember that there is no drop off along Andrews Road in the morning. All vehicles releasing children on Andrews need to be done so from a designated parking spot. For example, a vehicle parked in front of the brick wall or along the walking path is allowed, but vehicles stopped in front of the fire hydrant or in front of the parking lot entrance is not allowed. We also highly recommend that, after parking, parents walk their child to the front entrance.
Sunningdale Drop Off
Please wait until busses depart before dropping of students along Sunningdale Road. Busses begin arriving around 8:00 am and need to be able to pull into the drop off area unobstructed. They usually depart by around 8:08.
Andrews arrival and Sunningdale drop off are some of our most active areas in any school day. Following these agreements will help us keep our kids safe and the beginning of the day running smoothly.
Volunteer Opportunity: Welcome to My World
On October 23, the 4th grade will participate in an experiential learning event called Welcome to My World. This event allows students to experience what life might be like for an individual with a disability. Student will rotate between 4 stations: dyslexia, sensory processing disorder, speech and language impairment, and gross motor impairment. At the end of these sessions, students will reflect on their experience and plan for how to be a supportive community member to a peer who may be experiencing a disability. The entire program will be about one hour.
Each class will need between 4 and 8 volunteers. The total time commitment will be 90 minutes: 30 minutes training before the program and 1 hour for the experience. Sign up here.
Question can be directed to Hayley Drimmel, school counselor, at drimmelh@loswego.k12.or.us
Welcome to My World is sponsored and developed by the Special Services Parent Advisory Committee (SSPAC).

Counselor's Corner: Forest Hills Kindness Project
Today we kicked off our monthly guidance lessons with the character trait of Kindness!! Our littlest Falcon’s are being introduced to this topic through the book “Have you Filled a Bucket Today” by Carol McCloud. In this story, we learn that our buckets are full when we are happy and feel good about ourselves and we fill other’ buckets by being kind and having empathy. We are also discussing how our actions can start a kindness chain reaction! Each class lesson will start with this delightful, two minute animated video about how one small acts of kindness can lead ot another. We will then be creating our own Kindness Chain by writing or drawing about kind acts we have experienced and linking them together throughout our hallways.
