We had a wonderful week this week, spreading love through our words and acts of kindness! I hope over this long weekend, all our Powell Panthers can continue to spread kindness in our community (or wherever you may be).
Good luck on Saturday to our 3 Destination Imagination teams competing at the regional competition. We know you will do a great job!

Hello Powell Families,
February is such a fun month with Valentine’s Day and Kindness Week. Our Panthers received kindness pencils to remember the importance of being kind! We will continue to focus on our Panther Pact and practice the following character traits:
February - Trustworthy
Be honest and tell the truth
Keep your promises
Be reliable and follow the rules
Show loyalty and never repeat unkind words
March - Responsibility
Be accountable for your actions and behavior
Do the right thing at the right time so others trust you
Take care of your property, yourself and others

Small Group Counseling
Small group counseling is a unique educational experience in which students work together to explore their ideas, attitudes, feelings and behaviors, especially as related to personal development and progress in school. Please download the permission form and email it back to me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like your child to participate in one of the groups listed below.

Powell's Federal Report Card and Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) can be found by following the steps below. If you would like to request a paper copy, you may do so by emailing email@example.com
From your school’s website:
- Go to "Our School/Campus"
Click “View School Profile"
Select “Accountability Reports”
Select "Texas Academic Performance Report" or "Federal Report Card"

Want to Recognize your Child's Teacher?
One great way to share words of encouragement, gratefulness and/or special recognition is by submitting a TAE for one of our staff members. This can be done through Parent Access Center (PAC).
Do you want to recognize an AWESOME Powell teacher? If so, follow the steps below:
- Log in to Parent Access.
- Click on communication.
- Choose Staff/Teacher excellence from the drop down menu.
- Select the employee to receive recognition from the drop down menu.
- Click create TAE.
- Click any of the pre-populated choices that apply.
- Type any additional comments in the Additional Comment box.
- Click the box labeled Create Teachers Achieving Excellence button.

Boosterthon THANK YOU
Thank you to everyone that pledged and attending our Fun Run this year! We exceeded our fundraising goal of 47,000. With all of us working together, we raised $56,843!!!! WOOHOO!!
These funds will be utilized to pay for grade level field trips and transportation, additional technology for the campus and a portion of the money raised will go directly back into your child's classroom. Each teacher will receive an allotment that they are able to spend on needed resources for their students.

Our Mission and Vision
At Powell Elementary, we are dedicated to providing a positive learning environment that empowers students to strive for excellence, accept others, and treat everyone with kindness. Our goal is to encourage all students to persevere academically and be responsible citizens in our school, community, and the world around them!
The vision of Powell Elementary is to be a supportive, inclusive and intentional school community through:
