We ask for all presenters to arrive at 7:45 to allow plenty of time to set up your presentation. Hillside High School invites all 8th graders
Hillside High School invites all 8th graders and their families to Project Inspire: An Open House Event on next Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 6PM to 7PM. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the wonderful academic, artistic, and athletic opportunities Hillside has to offer its students. Refreshments will be served.
Prepare for College
On Tuesday March 19th at 6:30 pm at Kestrel Heights School, Mike Russell, of The College Funding Coach will be presenting. There is no cost (except your time) to attend. All parents of preschoolers through seniors in high school will benefit from learning from The College Funding Coach.
As a parent, the reality of paying for college becomes more and more real. Currently, the College Board reports that a "moderate" college budget for an in-state public college averaged $24,061 per year. A moderate budget at a private college averaged $47,831 per year. Wowzers!
Whether you have a preschool student or a senior in high school, you will learn valuable information that is timely for you.
Many families have already registered to attend, and we have lots of seating so feel free to invite other parents to attend, too. We'd love to welcome them to this event!
Attached is a flyer about The College Funding Coach event. Register by clicking on the following link: College Funding Coach Registration
While the event is free of charge, registration is appreciated.

AIG News
This week in AIG....
This week in AIG classes 5th grades students are working on the "Stay Away from the Edge" challenge. The goal is to program their robot to sense an edge of a table, stop, and turn around to go another direction. The concept simulates the need for NASA's Mars rovers to be able to navigate around a cliff or edge of terrain safely.
PE
3rd grade students using Flag-tag games to practice their running, fleeing, dodging and grabbing skills while learning about how to use flags.
Doctor’s Notes
If your scholar needs to be excused from physical activities, please provide a doctor’s note.
Gym Shoes
Your scholar will need gym shoes (sneakers, tennis shoes) to participate in activities. They must have a flat bottom (no heel) and the foot must be fully covered. Sandals, Crocs, clogs, dress shoes, boots and any heeled shoes are not appropriate for class.
Art News
As often as I can, I will highlight a student who has gone above and beyond in their work and/or their behavior. I'll call it, "Tell Me Something Good".
Tell Me Something Good...
In my sixth grade class, EVERY SINGLE student has turned in their first project on time. Way to go and keep it up!
