Dear CLA Early Childhood and ECDEC Families,
We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. If you have not had the chance to review the two options for the 20-21 school year yet, please review this email sent from our Superintendent, Dr. Laurie Heinz (Link to newsletter - https://www.smore.com/zm8b5).
It is very important that all of our families complete the survey and share your intent to attend in person or virtually. In addition, it is also very important that you indicate whether or not your child will be taking the bus or will be driven to school. Based on the results of this survey, our team will be able to finalize our planning for the start of the school year.

Many parents have asked a few common questions about how in person or virtual learning will look different than in it did last year. The care and safety of our students and staff are of the utmost importance to us. We know that making this choice for your child's learning is very important. As a district and building, we are working very hard to follow all safety guidelines to ensure a safe learning environment for all. Here are some of the changes were are planning:

Here are some tips for wearing masks at school Mask Tips for School
Class sizes will remain the same (10 for self-contained and 15 for Blended/ECDEC)
Increased cleaning procedures between AM and PM classes
Regular hand washing and hand sanitizing throughout the day
During the school day, students will remain with their class and avoid interaction with other classes.
Individual classroom materials and modified school supply list
Gross motor time will not be on the playground equipment, but alternate areas to allow for movement and possible mask breaks.
Staff will have clear masks to help students to see their face during specific activities and lessons.
Emphasis on teaching social distancing awareness, hand washing, and wearing masks throughout the day.
Students who receive related services based on their IEP, will continue to receive them in the classroom.
Increased arrival and dismissal procedures to improve safety for students and staff.
Virtual Learning for Early Childhood:
Daily live instruction from the classroom Teacher and Clinician team.
Virtual lessons and activities will be planned to more closely align with an in person school day.
IEP goals will continue to be addressed and monitored through virtual lessons.
Students will be provided a Chromebook and Wifi hotspot if needed for virtual learning.
