All Positive - All Athletics- All Eagles - Dec. 2021

A Message From The Athletic Director

As our athletes prepare for a long awaited winter break, there are so many things we have to be grateful for in the past month. Our middle school winter season 1 came to an end and we are preparing for winter season 2 after break. Our high school winter season is in full swing with all teams competing. The teams are really starting to come together by competing every day at practice, building great team chemistry, while also being leaders in the hallways and classrooms. The academic eligibility list each week has been extremely short, which we pride ourselves on as an athletic department! The students and community support for all teams is something to be very proud of. If you haven't been able to catch a game or a wrestling match, I challenge you to tune in either in person or on the NFHS network as the majority of our competitions are livestreamed nightly.

Please take these next few weeks to rest with your loved ones, continue to be proud of what we have here in Linden, but be ready to come back even better in 2022. Go Eagles!!

From the Athletic Department, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

A Message From the Coaches

"After the first month of the season we have already played 6 games resulting in a 4-2 record. Fortunately, our 2 losses are out of conference leaving us with a 3-0 conference record (2-0 stripes division). The six games we have played have given us some much needed experience and revealed what type of team we will need to be going forward to have success. Our defense has been relentless allowing 32 points or less in all four of our victories highlighted by allowing just 23 points to a very good Flushing team. Our offense has been a work in progress that has continued to improve with each game. Our most recent victory over Flint Powers was our highest offensive output of the year, highlighted by a 22 point performance from Reichen Lund. We are extremely excited to get back from the break and get back on the court to continue to get better. These young men have worked extremely hard on the court and in the classroom and that is something we will continue". - Asst. Varsity Boys Basketball Coach Donnie Wilson

"The middle school volleyball season wrapped up with both teams finishing strong. Overall record for 7th grade was 19-1 and the overall record for 8th grade was 15-5. Both teams saw much improvement throughout the season! We finished with an in house double elimination tournament where team orange consisting of Lila Nester, Riley Schweitzer, Alexis Jones, and Cayla Turner came out with a victory"! - Varsity and MS Volleyball Coach Cori Mason

Linden Eagle Football News

It is with sadness, gratitude, and excitement that Linden Athletics announces the resignation of long time varsity football coach Dennis Hopkins.

After 25+ years of leading the Linden Football program, Coach Hopkins tendered his resignation on December 20, 2021. In doing so, a storied career of leading young men on the football field has officially concluded. The Linden Athletic Department is eternally grateful for Coach Hopkins service and dedication that has been bestowed upon countless student-athletes.

As one era comes to a close, another begins. The Linden Athletic Department looks forward to the challenge of identifying the next head coach that will continue the tradition of Linden Football.
