We had a sunshiny yellow day in GOAL! We loved the movie Yellow Day and it was awesome to have Michael Rachal, an actor from the movie, eat lunch with us and answer questions about the movie! Be sure and ask your participant about their souvenir and movie info flyer.
In Expressive Literacy we wrote about our goals for 2016. We have decorated our bulletin board in the main hallway with our goals, so you can see them if you get a chance to stop by this month.
Fitness and Wellness was tough coming back from having two weeks off! We spent one day doing stretches and indoor fitness training and we also walked some laps. We will be back on schedule next week for two days of exercise!
Zoology participants began learning about how animals survive in the winter. We learned some hibernate, some migrate and some adapt to the weather around them! Amazing!
In Literacy we read about parades and how hot air balloons work. We learned about helium and air. We also read about the movie Yellow Day.
Green Team started re-potting plants into bigger containers this week.
Production Room helped put together Gator Gala invitations. Creative Art groups have started working on auction items for the Gala.
A new unit was begun in Bible Study with the emphasis on God taking care of us. Jacob and Esau were twin brothers in the story we read.
The Nutrition class learned about "combination foods" that have several parts of the Food Pyramid in them. Pizza, tacos, salads, and sushi are examples.
Since nursing students were volunteering in our social skills class, we practiced conversational skills with them. We discussed our Christmas break, which led to many other conversations.
In Current Events we read about the new Star Wars movie. We watched the trailer and answered questions over what we read.
If anybody has any yoga or exercise mats that are not being used we would love to have them. We also need any pots or planters you don't want.
