Art City is implementing 'Go Green!" This philosophy is based on the Zones of Regulation. These zones are designed to help students manage their social/emotional well being and learn strategies to help them feel happy, calm, focused and ready to learn. Each classroom has a Go Green poster. Teachers have discussed each zone, what it means and ways we can Go Green. The link below is a copy of the poster and what each zone color represents. Talk with your child about the things they have learned in class and how this may help them learn to manage their own frustrations and emotions. It is really a wonderful resource that can be helpful for anyone, no matter the age.

If you are doing remote learning right now know that we miss you at school! We hope things are going well, you are adjusting to a new routine (it is very different than March, isn't it?!), and communicating with your teacher. Please let me know if you need any assistance. Please also know that we would love to have you stop by for school pictures, pick up a school magnet and get needed supplies. We hope to be able to see you soon!

K-3rd grade: Please watch for information from your teacher regarding Acadience Assessment. This assessment gives us information on your child's current reading level. It helps us prepare purposeful instruction specific to individual student needs. If possible, please go to the school your remote teacher is working from for this assessment. You should receive information from your remote teacher in the next week or so.

The first Friday of each month is STAND STRONG DAY. This day we will focus on being Stand Strong in Mind, Body and Spirit.

• Stand strong in mind by being safe, respectful ad responsible at school, home and in the community.
• Stand strong in body by doing those things that help us physically be strong. (Dress up day in the way you like to keep your body strong, ie: running, soccer, basketball, etc.)
• And when we are strong in body and mind, our spirit is strong. This means we are our best selves inside.

We will recognize students for their Stand Strong behavior over the announcements.

If your family qualified for free or reduced lunch this past year, you can apply to receive a reimbursement from the state for the time we were out of school. (March- May) Fill out the application in the link below. If you qualify, the money will come the form of an EBT card that can only be used on food from a grocery store. The deadline is August 31, 2020.
