Students Enjoy Fit4Fund$!
The Galvin Fit4Fund$ Day was a huge success! Thank you to all Galvin families for your support of our students in school. The weather was perfect and students participated in a variety of fitness-based activities. More information from CAPT will be emailed out to parents next week.
Early Dismissal Procedures
Following this procedure will allow us to have your child downstairs, ready for pickup and will get you on your way as quickly as possible. We understand unexpected emergencies arise during the day, but these should be the exception. In those instances, please come to the office door and ring the bell. We will have a form for you to fill out and will call your child down as efficiently as possible. However, please understand this will take some time. Thank you.
Picture Day October 13, 2021
Hispanic Heritage Month
Students and staff recognized Hispanic Heritage month in a variety of ways. During X Block, a multi-purpose block in our school day, the whole school participated in a two-day learning experience around Hispanic heritage, including listening to Latin music, watching a short video, and reading a Newsela article that shared various Hispanic and Latinx students’ experiences. Additionally, on Day 2 of the lesson, students participated in small and whole class discussions about what they learned.
One of our school-wide goals this year is to create learning opportunities that help us all see the vibrant cultures that surround us.
In Spanish class, students are researching a Hispanic country and creating a presentation to share what they learn.
GMS Cross Country Update and Our Bulldog Scholars
Congratulations to the Cross Country team for winning both the girls and boys tri-meet yesterday against King Phillip Middle School and Foxboro Middle School. Lauren Rafeeto and Declan Monohan finished strong in first place in two very close races. Nora Giannacopoulous took 3rd and Elena Silva took 4th for the girls team. Kai Anand took 3rd, Colby Cormier took 4th and Riley Swearington took 5th for the Boys team. All members of the team had displayed huge improvements in their time and effort since the first meet! Great job to the Cross Country team!
The GMS Cross Country Bulldog Scholars are weekly performers who demonstrate hard work at practice and meets, exemplify sportsmanship, and respect the learning environment. Recipients are considered and chosen by the coaches each week. Students will be acknowledged each week throughout the season. Congratulations to this week's GMS Cross Country Bulldog Scholars: Tony Sfeir & Adileh Azar.
Clubs at GMS
Students who stay after school without permission will be directed to the office and parents will be contacted to pick them up.
