Weekly Happenings
Remember, we do not have school on Monday or Tuesday. We will be looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday.
We kicked off our cookie dough fundraiser today! We will be sending home the cookie dough fundraiser packet in your child's backpack today. Have fun selling!
Now that everyone has looked over the report card, please let us know if you have questions or concerns.
We go outside for recess when the windchill is 20 degrees or above. If students have extra gloves and hats they would like to leave at school it would be helpful. Their hands and ears seems to get pretty cold. :)
Here is information about the LEAP program. We will be contacting you if we would like to nominate your child.
LEAP Program
LEAP is an intervention program for gifted students in grades 2-8 who have been identified as gifted learners. Students must meet qualifying levels on identified assessments in order to participate in LEAP. The levels are prescribed by the Missouri Board of Education and have been adapted to the Ray-Pec LEAP program.
Nomination Period Now Open
Each year, parents or teachers may nominate students in grades 1-7 for candidacy to be evaluated for LEAP. The nomination period is from January 4 to 29, 2016. The nomination form link will be available on January 4, 2016, on the district webpage: http://www.raypec.k12.mo.us/index.aspx?nid=889
Our school counselor Miss Madras serves as our building LEAP coordinator. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email her or call her at 892-1608.
