ACTIVITIES
ATHLETIC GAMES START
High School Volleyball kicks off the season at home Tuesday, August 22.
High School Football is also at home Friday, August 25.
FREE STUDENT ACTIVITY PASSES
Students at CCA will get a FREE CCA Activity Pass this school year. The FREE pass is part of a pilot program we are testing this year. The pass will get students into most home activities/events but activity passes do not work for WaMaC hosted events and postseason events per WaMaC Conference Rules. In order to get into the CCA events for FREE, students must have their Activity Pass with them upon entry to the event.
HOW DO I GET THE FREE STUDENT ACTIVITY PASS?
- You can pick up the student free pass(s) at Back to School Nights.
- After Back to School nights, the passes will be available for pick-up at your student's building until the first day of school.
- Students in grades 6-12: High School students will get their pass on August 24 during CLT. Seniors can get their pass at lunch or through the high school main office. Middle School students will receive their pass during their homeroom class.
- Students K-5: Any passes not picked up will be sent home with the students. Parents should watch for the passes.
- PK students continue to be free and do not require a pass.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY STUDENT LOSES THEIR ACTIVITY PASS?
There will be a fee of $5.00 for a replacement Activity Pass.
CAN I TAKE A PHOTO OF MY PASS AND SHOW THE PASS ON MY PHONE?
No, not at this time. Passes are required at the time of entry to any CCA home athletic/activity event.
WHEN IS THE FIRST HOME EVENT FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR?
On August 22 the High School volleyball teams have their first home event at the High School. For those students who may not receive their passes in time for the first few games, they will still be able to attend. Gate workers will be asking if they are a CCA student and manually tracking them.
WHERE DO I PURCHASE AN ADULT ACTIVITY PASS?
The Adult activity pass is available for purchase on Bound. To purchase, click this link to BOUND: https://www.gobound.com/ia/schools/clearcreekamana/tickets
STUDENT AND FAN EXPECTATIONS
The 9-12th grade student section will be on the south side of the 30 yard line. The K-8 students will sit with their family/guardians in the family/community section of the bleachers.
We want stadium activities to be pleasant for all fans, so we ask that everyone sit on the bleachers during competitions at the stadium. Stadium rules are as follows:
- Elementary and middle school children must sit with accompanied adults.
- No loitering behind the bleachers will be permitted.
- No Pets Allowed
- No Outside Food or Drink/Drink Containers allowed
- No backpacks will be allowed in the stadium.
- No Signs allowed
- No artificial noisemakers
- Please refrain from throwing any substances in the air as this is a safety issue and also adds to the already involved stadium cleanup.
- Young children, including elementary, middle school and high school students will be directed to sit in the bleachers. They will not be allowed to rough house behind the bleachers
- CCA students should remain on the home side for the entirety of the game.
- Middle school students will not be admitted into the game unless they are accompanied by a parent/guardian.
- There will not be a middle school student section in the bleachers and middle school students are NOT allowed to sit in the high school student section.
- Middle school students are required to sit in the stands and meet the expectations outlined above.
CCA reserves the right to deny entry or ask someone to leave for not adhering to the CCA rules or board policy 903.4. This includes unruly and disruptive fans.
We appreciate your help with the implementation of these expectations and rules to ensure student safety while giving our fans the opportunity to completely enjoy the game. Thank you for your help in displaying Clipper hospitality and good sportsmanship!

FOOD SERVICE UPDATE
ELEMENTARY STUDENTS
Offer vs Serve (OVS) is new to our elementary students this year. OVS allows students to deline some of the foods offered during breakfast and lunch. The goals of OVS are to reduce food waste and give students the opportunity to choose the foods they want to eat.
Students will no longer be served everything on the menu as they have in the past. Students must take at least three food items and one of those must be a fruit or vegetable. We will encourage students to take all 5 items on the menu, but there will be times that your student(s) may choose to take the minimum. Keep encouraging your student(s) to take as much as they are allowed.
The nutrition department is working hard to find ways to offer more entree options for all of our CCA students. Keep an eye out for more changes coming later this fall for our elementary students.
SECONDARY STUDENTS
Middle School and High School students can expect a wider variety of foods during lunch this year. Throughout the fall, both schools will be adding a variety of fresh salads, sandwiches, and wraps to be served daily. The nutrition department will also have Domino’s Smart Slice Pizza available every day. This pizza is not what you get when you order a pizza for delivery to your home. Each Smart Slice includes a whole grain crust and nearly half the sodium and fat and ⅓ the calories of a regular slice. All of these new options will be available to every student as part of their reimbursable meal.
CCA SEEKS 5 CANDIDATES FOR SCHOOL BOARD
On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, Iowans across the state will head to the polls to vote for the men and women who will govern the education of more than 483,000 students. Local communities elect school board members every other year for four-year terms.
Due to census numbers and population distribution of our school board districts, CCA has 5 school board positions open for election this year on November 7, 2023. The Iowa Association of School Boards urges the public to make education a priority by paying attention to local campaigns and voting on Nov. 7.
