Week 19 Up Coming Events @ Dodd
I Hope that everyone had a restful 3 day weekend. Students seemed on top of their work and they created some great writing samples this week. Some are still a work in progress, but nothing to worry about. Just a few reminders about when your child is absent. Please send a note with the date and reason for your child's absence. Report cards will be coming home soon. Keep an eye out for them and sign and return if your child has an highlighted due to failing grades. With our fast approaching STAAR testing, keep in mind that your children are working hard at school on skills that can be strengthened at home too. They can practice on ISTATIONS at home and read as much as time allows. This will also help with their writing skills too. Any of your help is greatly appreciated.
Wednesday February 4th - Early dismissal @ 12:30
Monday February 16th - President's Day - no school - holiday
** STAAR testing - April 21st and 22nd for 3rd grade reading **

In writing, students wrote about A Time they learned something for the first time and about what they know about hurricanes . They could use notes to recall information on hurricanes and tell what damages they can do to communities.
