Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
November 18, 2022
We had a wonderful week together at Lutherville Lab! Thank you to all the family members who were able to join us during American Education Week. It was wonderful to be able to welcome you into our school and have you join us for some learning and collaborating with your children, and more importantly to share in the joy and community that we work to nurture each day.
This week we not only welcomed families families, but all three of our college partnership programs were here. We have students from Towson come to support math, Goucher students come to work with students individually in classrooms, and more Towson students come to work with our Kindergartners on hands-on science activities on select Fridays. We are so glad to have developed these partnerships, which bring extra resources and attention to our students and help develop the next generation of educators. All college students who come to our school complete the volunteer training and screening process.
This week also marked the conclusion of another incredibly successful Read-A-Thon! I was jazzed to join about 70 students online and read a family favorite in the McComb home -- The Magic is in You! Outcomes of the Read-A-Thon are below, but please note it is not too late to solicit donations. We can take them for another week.
Please note that next week there is only 1.5 days of school. We look forward to seeing our Leopards on Tuesday for a full day, which is also a "wild west" spirit day (reminder no look-alike weapons, y'all).

Please join us in a warm, cozy space as we make cards for LL teachers and staff. Come anytime between 2:30 and 4:30 pm!
Supplies will be provided, however we greatly welcome your donation of any extra stickers, markers and other craft supplies you have at home.
Take Home Option
Due in an envelope marked "PTA" by Fri Dec 2nd
In your child's green folder you will see instructions and two pages to contribute. LL students, alumni, parents, families and caregivers are all invited to color these, write a message inside and if you would like, create additional thank you cards, notes and pictures.
We simply ask that the contributions not be addressed to specific people - our goal is to make them general enough that we can use them whenever, wherever and for whomever throughout the year.
Sample phrases for the insides of the card include:
- You're amazing!
- Thanks a million!
- I am so glad you're part of our LL family.
- Thank you for brightening our days.
- What would we do without you?
- We appreciate you.
- You are special to me.
- Thank you for your smile.
- My daughter/son/child loves Lutherville Lab.
- You make a difference every day.
Questions can be directed to our PTA Hospitality Chair Lisa Reagle, reaglelisa@gmail.com, (919) 618-0535. Thank you for your support and happy Thanksgiving from the PTA!
