KISD Marching Expo Returns for Fourth Year

The annual KISD Marching Expo is set to take place on Tuesday, September 27, at the Keller ISD Stadium! Come out and watch the high school bands as they present their 2016 UIL contest shows! Every middle school band in Keller ISD will perform as well!

The In-n-Out truck will be serving burgers, chips, and drinks starting at 6:00 pm! Cost is $5 per person and quantities are limited!

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from any high school or middle school band!

KISD Students Earn Region Jazz Honors

High School Jazz Band students recently auditioned for the Region 30 All-Region Jazz Band. The top qualifiers from this audition advance to the Area round, with an opportunity to be selected to the All-State Jazz Band, which will perform at the Texas Music Educators Association Clinic and Convention in February.

The All-Region Jazz Band concert is scheduled for Tuesday, November 15 at Aledo HS.

Alto Sax: Ana de Oliviera (1st chair 2nd band)

Tenor Sax: Reese Hyatt (1st chair top band, Area Qualifier)
Bari Sax: John Pence (1st chair 2nd band)
Tenor trombone: Noah Gresh (1st chair 2nd band)
Trumpet: Tanner Price (2nd chair top band, Area Qualifier) and Brendan Chucci (1st chair 2nd band)
Guitar: Andy Brooks (1st chair top band, Area Qualifier)

Fossil Ridge High School

Alto Sax: Nick DeWalt (1st chair top band, Area Qualifier)

Bari Sax: Dylan Huynh (1st chair top band, Area Qualifier)

Piano: Lindsay Allen (2nd chair)

Keller Central High School

Drum Set: Connor Kirkwood (2nd chair, Area Qualifier)

Three KISD Bands Earn Mark of Excellence Distinction

Keller ISD was recently notified that three band programs received this year's Mark of Excellence Award!

The Indian Springs Wind Ensemble, directed by David Puckett, and the Keller High School Wind Ensemble, directed by Mark McGahey, have been selected as National Winners in the Mark of Excellence I National Wind Band Honors project.

The Fossil Ridge High School Wind Ensemble, directed by Brad Allen has been selected as a Commended Winner in the Mark of Excellence I National Wind Band Honors project.

The Mark of Excellence consists of the National Wind Band Honors, National Choral Honors, National Orchestra Honors, National Jazz Honors and National Percussion Ensemble Honors. It is a competition, entered by recordings, in which the top quarter are selected as National Winners and the second quarter receive Commended Honors.

Congratulations to all of these band programs, their students, directors, and administrators, for this impressive achievement!

Fossil Ridge Band preparing for first boa super regional

The Fossil Ridge Band is taking its contest show, "Somebody Hears You," to its first Bands of America Super Regional, in St. Louis, MO on October 22, and they are asking for YOUR help!

Please consider sponsoring a student to attend this performance by donating as little as ten dollars, up to the full amount of $300 per student. Hit the link below to show your support for the Panther Regiment!
