WOOD WEEKLY
December 16, 2020
Good Afternoon Plainville Families,
I hope everyone is having a great week and has prepared themselves for the upcoming potential snowstorm. It might just give you the opportunity to spend some outdoor time with the kids having fun in the snow. And for those of you who are more ‘indoor’ people in cold weather, there are always family games or movies that you may want to enjoy together. If the snow decides to pass us by, then it will be business as usual, a ‘normal’ Thursday school schedule. Either way, enjoy the day and rest of the week.
Health and Wellness
Massachusetts Departments of Public Health has required a flu vaccination for all in-person and remote students Kindergarten - Grade 12 by December 31, 2020. Please send in documentation of your child’s vaccination to Mrs. Pasquantonio. Thank you.
Report Cards
Report cards will be available in the parent portal on Monday, December 21st.
Lunch and Recess
With the snow coming, we anticipate that lunch will be inside the classrooms as the ground will not be suitable for outdoor dining. We will still have recess outside, weather and ground permitting. Please dress appropriately. Hats, gloves or mittens and warm weather attire will be helpful in keeping students toasty warm. Windows are still cracked open for air circulation. Blankets are certainly coming in handy. Don’t forget to bring them home for a good washing over break.
Band
A note from Mr. Sherwin:
Just a reminder that tomorrow's evening KP Virtual Alumni Series Concert will feature KP alum Ally Parramore. Ally is now a professional flutist with chairs in the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, The Missouri Symphony, and Boston's Phoenix Orchestra in addition to teaching flute at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY.
Thursday, December 17 at 7pm Ally will present a masterclass and recital and I hope you'll be there!!! She was (literally) EXACTLY where you are not too long ago. Ally would be a great professional to add to your ever-growing list of flutists.
You can sign up here and Mr. Keough will send the Zoom link on Thursday. Thanks and stay safe!
Facebook:
Please join and take a look at our Facebook page, B.H. Wood School. There you will be able to get a sneak peak at what we are doing in classrooms, some of the great activities that we participate in as well as great pictures of spirit days and festivities that happen in the building. We will be posting school announcements and you can see what we are doing in classrooms! We also welcome photos of remote learning as well. Please send your submission to Ms. Hoyle at jhoyle@plainville.k12.ma.us. We would love for you to share all the educational fun and excitement you are having at home too.
