Not protected under copyright law because it is expired, donated, created with public money.

Example: Classic literature/ classic music


Copyrighted work that you can copy, use, or give away for free.

Example: itunes and safari


Copyrighted work that you can copy, share, give away for free but only for a limited time.

Example: Lite apps, netflix

All Rights Reserved

Only allows purchaser to use the software according to the details laid out in the license agreement.

Example: Most software like iwork.

Open Source

Software that includes the source code with the idea that someone else will improve it.

Example: Firefox, Chrome.
