Just a brief follow up to our 6th grade curriculum night: thank you to those who provided some feedback about our format. We appreciate it and will take each piece into consideration in our preparations for next year. Thanks to those we saw and spoke to at the event as well.

New Student Party
40 Developmental Assets Leadership Training @ Casey Park
The following students attended the October 7 Asset Leadership Training at Casey Park:
Lena Sassenhausen, Gabby Ontek, Liz Purdum, Tessa Edward, Mikayla Nowak, Nia Black, Bailey Thomas, Maya Rush, Erin Harvey, Shanna Gorsky, Olivia Gilbert, Kiersten Matchett, Lucas Hansen, Anaka Landrigan, Jacob Rauber, Cody Jackson, Lily Chateanuef, and Irini Konstantinou, along with several Freshmen, our Junior & Senior facilitators, our dedicated Asset Advisors Mrs. Mangos and Mrs. Mateo, and a few other staff members from both the MS & HS. These monthly meetings are geared towards demonstrating the power of each of the 40 developmental assets in leading healthy and successful lives. Students of the Week & Class Acts
The following students have contributed positively to the climate of our middle school and have been nominated for Student of the Week:
Leila Bellinger was nominated by the Neptune team for demonstrating effort and a positive work ethic Leila is a focused, responsible student who hands in quality work on a consistent basis. She is a role model for other students on the team.
Ella Salce was nominated by the Pluto team for being a kind and respectful student, who goes above and beyond in her work. She is a good friend to others and always seems to have a smile on her face.
Ronald Cassano was nominated by the Pluto team for being a diligent and self-motivated student. He enjoys school and is a positive role model to others.
Nicole Clark was nominated by the Jupiter team for being a hard working, positive and conscientious student who is kind and respectful to others.
Lilyana Chataeuneuf was nominated by the Saturn team. Lilly is a responsible, hard-working student that makes sure she is always prepared. She works hard to assist her peers and consistently exemplifies good citizenship.
Sarah Wallace was nominated by the Mercury team. Sarah is a wonderful student who is always on task and tries her hardest consistently. She strives to do her best and impresses us every day!
We would also like to recognize our Class Act recipients for their actions which exhibit positive character and leadership traits.
Our 6th grade recipient is Noah Means. Noah is recognized for Service to Others. Noah helped a classmate get caught up without any complaining and had to do a lot of writing!
Our 7th grade recipient is Charley Wiggins. Charley is recognized for Service to Others, Positive Peer Influence, Caring and Positive Identity. Charley asked another student to join his group when he noticed he was working by himself.
Our 8th grade recipient is Claire Brewer. Clair placed chairs up on the tables in the Cafeteria after a musical workshop without being asked.
Principals’ recipients for this week:
Richie Cassano – Richie is off to a great start academically. He is involved in several things throughout the school. He has demonstrated leadership and several positive assets throughout the school year and has left a positive impression on us this year! Keep up the great work Richie!
Nathan McKenna – Nathan is challenging himself and excelling academically this year. He is an outstanding, respectful and hard working young man. Nathan keeps himself busy with sports and clubs, is very involved and is an overall outstanding young man. Keep up the great work guys!

Halloween Guidelines:
Below is a list of guidelines for the Middle School to make Halloween safe and fun for all.
- NO face masks
- Costume must be prepared at home
- No paint or hairspray done on the bus or in school
- Costume must be safe to ride on the bus and walk on the stairs
- No accessories that resemble a weapon or can be used as a weapon
- Footwear must be safe and not a hazard on the stairs (no bedroom slippers, over-sized shoes, or flippers)
- Follow school guidelines for drugs, alcohol, and appropriate dress
*Any part of a costume found to be distracting, inappropriate, or unsafe must be removed at an adult request
