D103 Plans for Opening Schools for 2020-2021

Dear District 103 Parents,

I hope this letter finds you well. I would like to provide you with the fall opening plans for the 2020-2021 school year. You will find three links below. The first is a recorded slide presentation outlining the opening plan, the second link is a detailed written plan, and the third link is a parent form that all families will need to complete regarding your choice of instruction for your children for the first half of the year though January. The options for instruction will be:

  1. In-Person learning 5-days per week, or
  2. Remote learning 5-days per week

It is important to complete the form by this Friday July 17, 2020, so the district can move forward with final plans for the fall.

Our plans may change depending on the status of COVID-19 in our community and Illinois. If infection rates continue to rise prior to school opening this fall, we may need to move to a part-time in-person experience or a full-remote learning experience for all students. Additionally, we may need to close school from time-to-time throughout the year depending on the current status of COVID-19. We are prepared to continue teaching and learning in an enhanced remote learning environment, which is explained in our plan.

Please take time to listen to the presentation, read the eight-page plan, and complete the parent form by this Friday, July 17 at 4 p.m.

  3. Parent Form - Family Decision for Fall Opening 2020-2021

Thank you for partnering with us as we navigate this new normal. Please watch for additional information later this month.

Sincerely,

Scott Warren, Ed.D.
