NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL...
This Spring we have a few big events scheduled. State testing for grades 3 through 5 takes place April 29th through May 10th. The following week we begin the APEX fun run activities which culminates in the jog-a-thon on May 22nd. During the APEX fun run Open House and the book fair will take place.
We will also hold the *Father/Daughter* and *Mother/Son* dances this Spring. We are working on finalizing the dates with the committee so we can get them to you as soon as possible.
Are you ready to help enrich students' school experiences? On April 2nd we hold our next PTO meeting to seek nominations for next year's officers. We would love for you to come, get involved and share new ideas to make a positive difference for our students. If you have questions, please call Michelle in the office, and she can answer your questions (she served as PTO president) or direct you to somebody who can answer them. Our meeting will start at 6:30 PM in the staff lounge, and childcare will be provided.
Plans continue as we transition from half day to extended day kindergarten this Fall. The kindergarten teachers are excited about our new schedule as it will provide time to not only teach the necessary foundational reading, math and writing skills, the schedule will allow teachers to delve deeper into literature, math and science based projects.
