Sign up for Make a difference day
In collaboration with The City of Montgomery, we invite you to join us in Making a Difference in our Community. On Friday, October 26 (no school for students this day) we will make our way into the community and rake leaves for those who are elderly, disabled, or unable to leave their homes. We pride ourselves in helping every family that needs our help, so please sign up to join us and bring your family and friends. Everyone is welcome to join us. Please sign up no later than October 19 so we are sure to have enough buses and breakfast.
Our agenda for the day:
8:00am Meet at SJH cafeteria (entrance back by the stadium)
8:15am group picture
8:30am buses leave for job sites
1:00pm anticipated latest arrival for buses to return to SJH
Students may leave directly from the job site or ride the bus back to school. Students are encouraged to bring their own phones to call for a ride as our end time is dependent on the workload. An adult will be at each location with a cell phone for students that do not have one. If you have any questions please contact Jim Dejoy at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for helping us to MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

In case you missed it
Sycamore Junior High participates in the Midwest Academic Talent Search sponsored by the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University. CTD uses both the ACT and SAT tests to give families information on student’s abilities and educational achievement, beyond information generated by regular standardized and state testing. Results are reported relative to both the total test population (including high school students) and relative to MATS students only. Sycamore students who are enrolled in Honors/Accelerated courses may consider MATS testing.
*Each year Sycamore Junior High offers a MATS exclusive testing session for the ACT. This year the testing date will be held on Saturday, February 9th 2019. Information for registering online, including the required Testing Center ID for enrolling, can be found on the letter just below.
