A Capital Visit
Year 6 Enjoy Three Days in London
Almost as soon as they had arrived, the culture began, with a visit to The National Gallery followed by a matinee performance of Matilda The Musical. The children were delighted when Miss Stephenson, who taught them in Year 5 but is now based in London, joined them for their evening meal at The Rainforest Cafe. They must have been glad to arrive at the hostel for a good night's sleep (we hope!).
Thursday, wow what a day! St Paul’s followed by a tour of the Globe theatre and a Shakespeare workshop - the children amazed the actor with their knowledge of Macbeth! Then a boat trip to Westminster where they watched debates. Finally, the London Eye before pizza and the train back to the hostel!
Today, a great ‘investigate’ session at the Natural History Museum was followed by a quick tour of the museum. We are looking forward to welcoming home 29 tired but happy children. Thank you for being so well behaved and a credit to our school.
Thanks also for such a successful trip go to our staff who went along, Mr Holmes, Mrs McCormick, Mrs Moore, Mrs Hart and Mrs Waters. Mr Winspear, parent and governor also enjoyed his visit, and we cannot thank him enough for driving the van of luggage there and back. A final thanks to Mrs Stewart in the office, who has been organising for months so as many events as possible could be squeezed into the three days - fantastic!
Children in Need Day
Showing Compassion
More Outdoor Adventures
Our Year 4 children had a brilliant time at Bewerley Park on Monday, They were all fantastic ambassadors for the school and really embraced the challenges of the day. They worked well in teams and supported and encouraged each other throughout the day.
A Special Visit
We were joined on Monday morning by visiting headteachers all the way from India. Two groups of three headteachers visited classrooms, spoke to children and learnt about the way we teach children in England. They were very impressed with the school, particularly how well behaved and focused the children were in every classroom.
