The Vision


The Refuge after-school program has been created with the vision of serving the Shikellamy School district in a partnership to utilize quality tutors and tools of technology, all the while keeping a rigorous focus on the Common Core Standards and the desired outcomes of the school district leadership. We believe in meeting the needs of our local youth through education and proving that hard work leads to success.




How We Serve

Goal Setting and Data Collection

  • Each student we serve will identify a goal for each marking period of school.
  • Staff will work with students throughout each marking period, monitoring grades, recording progress, helping with assignments, and communicating with parents and teachers.
  • Assignments, forms, and communication will be done through private file sharing on Google Drive and email. We are also open to phone calls and meetings with school district collaborators.

  • Online access to school books (Grades 7th-12th).
  • Assignments/Work Owed from teachers saved in Google Drive folder
  • Open lines of communication
