Now online--Check out the new Voyager Education Feature
Google Earth joined with National Geographic and others to tell stories around the world.
Go to Google Earth and click on Voyager (it looks like a ship's wheel). There are multiple tabs that take you to various locations. Inside, you will find videos, facts, and pictures of the area, and street view. There are cultural, historical, educational, and nature tours.
This is an amazing way to see the world without having to leave your classroom.

Educational Tours
Just one of the several educational tours available.
Videos and Fact Cards
This one contains a video from PBS Education as well as a fact card. You can trace his voyage on the map from as you flip between cards.
History, language arts, and science lessons can all be enhanced with virtual tours.
Note: Not all tours are age appropriate, so be careful when assigning it to individual students.
