6th Grade Student Led Conferences- October 9th
This year sixth grade teachers will host student led conferences in a scavenger hunt format. These conferences focus on our students being accountable in their learning and responsible in showing their classroom efforts to their families. Your child will be presenting work and lessons from this school year in all of their core classes. With teachers as facilitators, students possess the active role of explaining their work, showing their progress and identifying areas of concern or growth. We hope this new experience in Murphy Middle School will be a success-building tool we will be implementing for many years.
Limited private conferences will be available in the afternoon for individual students that are struggling academically or behaviorally in more than one class. Teachers will contact parents directly should there be a concern regarding your child’s performance.
In order to streamline this process you and your child have a designated time to arrive at Murphy Middle School. Your conference will begin in the classroom of your child’s third period class. (Mr. Borja’s sixth graders will go to Ms. McAnderson’s class - E105 and Ms. Perry’s Math Rocks 6 class will go to Mrs. Good’s class - E109) Please see the letter from your child's third period teacher for the assigned time for your Student Led Conference Scavenger Hunt.
