Dear Parents/ Guardians and Students:

On Wednesday, April 26, 2023, Proviso East, Proviso West, and PMSA will administer the Seal of Biliteracy Proficiency Examination for students who have mastered standard academic English and any other language. Students who are native English speakers, English Learners (ELs), and bilingual speakers will be eligible for the State Seal of Biliteracy test. This is an in-person computer-based assessment.

A Seal of Biliteracy Award is a statement by the school system that mastery of two or more languages is essential. It encourages students to pursue biliteracy, honors the skills our students attain, and can be evidence of skills that are attractive to future employers and college admissions offices.

• Testing students will arrive at 7:45 am and start testing at 8:30 am at their respective schools. Breakfast will be available.
• All students should bring their charged district laptops and charging adaptors and report to their assigned location for the morning.
• Testing should be completed by 12:30 pm, and students will report to 6th-period
• Students will report to their 7th and 8th-period classes, and dismissal will commence at the usual time, 3:15 pm.
• Testing locations will be TBD.

El miércoles, 26 de abril de 2023, Proviso East, Proviso West, y PMSA administrarán el Examen de Dominio del Sello de Alfabetización Bilingüe para los estudiantes que han dominado el inglés académico estándar y cualquier otro idioma. Los estudiantes que son nativos de habla inglés, los que están aprendiendo inglés (EL, por sus siglas en inglés), y los bilingües serán elegibles para el examen del Sello de Alfabetización Bilingüe. Se trata de una evaluación presencial por computadora.

El Sello de Alfabetización Bilingüe es una declaración del sistema escolar de que el dominio de dos o más idiomas es esencial. Promueve que los estudiantes busquen la doble alfabetización, honra las habilidades que nuestros estudiantes logran, y puede ser evidencia de habilidades que son atractivas para futuros empleadores y oficinas de admisión a la universidad.

Detalles del horario de las pruebas:

• Los estudiantes llegarán a las 7:45 am y comenzarán las pruebas a las 8:30 am en sus respectivas escuelas. Habrá desayuno disponible.
• Todos los estudiantes deben traer sus ordenadores portátiles del distrito cargados y adaptadores de carga y presentarse en su ubicación asignada para la mañana.
• Las pruebas deberán estar terminadas a las 12:30 pm, y los estudiantes se reportarán al 6to periodo.
• Los estudiantes se presentarán a sus clases de 7º y 8º período, y la salida comenzará a la hora habitual, 3:15 pm.
• Los lugares de las pruebas serán por determinar.
