"GIVING TREE"
Light up the season with generosity! Holiday help is needed! In an effort to help families at Deibler who are in need, we are again suggesting the donation of gift cards this year.
Gift cards can be sent in with your child, in an envelope addressed to Sondi Alderfer. Gift cards in the amount of $20-25 (Giant, Walmart, 5 Below, Visa/Mastercard, etc) would be great. Please send these to school by Friday, 12/10.
Thank you again for your efforts in making a difference for local needy families. Please feel free to call Sondi at 215-257-1146 with any questions. Thank you and happy holidays!
Holiday Shoppe
The Holiday Shoppe will be held on Friday, December 3rd from 6:30 – 8:30pm. Parents are welcome to come to the gym and help their child shop, or the Fifth Grade “Elves” will be available to assist children who may want to keep their purchases a secret from family members. Items range in price from $0.25 to $10. Most items are $5 and under.
There is quite a bit to keep everyone occupied at the holiday shop this year:
- Free cookies and hot cocoa
- Water for sale
- Games and coloring station
- Scrip Gift Card sale (cash or checks only accepted)
- The cafeteria will contain Gingerbread Lane for the evening. Every child that attends the holiday shop will receive a ticket to vote for his or her favorite gingerbread creation.
*All guests must wear a mask while inside the school building.
From The PTO
Please join us at our next PTO meeting on Monday 12/6 at 9:15AM in the Deibler cafeteria! We will be planning events for January and February!
Visit the PTO website at: https://sites.google.com/view/deibler-pto/
We also want to say a very big thank to everyone who supported our Deibler Dash this year and all of our student participants. Your generosity helped us to exceed our goal and we are looking forward to building our outdoor learning pavilion!!!
Pavilion Building Committee
The PTO is looking for 5-7 parents to join a committee to oversee the building of our outdoor learning pavilion. This committee will be in charge of soliciting designs, bids and contracting construction, as well as working with our local township and district for plan approval and permits. We anticipate that the committee will meet once a month until construction is complete. If you are interested in joining this committee, please email TrishKantorPTO@gmail.com with your contact information and any relevant experience you can bring to the committee. The first committee meeting will be scheduled sometime in December. More information will be forthcoming.
House Steering Committee
At Deibler we have a House Steering Committee that is made up of parents and faculty. The purpose of this committee is to work together to come up with a monthly house theme, house activity (which is displayed on the front bulletin board at Deibler) and house meeting agendas.
Our Theme for December is: Empathy and Generosity
Our Theme for January IS: Service
The meeting will be via ZOOM on Tuesday 12/7 at 7:00PM! Please feel free to join us by clicking on the link below!

COURT DOCUMENTS
Please make sure that the school has a copy of any court documents regarding child custody and related matters. We must assume that both parents have equal access to their children, and by law we must release students to either parent unless we have court papers that state otherwise. Thank you!
OUTDOOR RECESS
Please make sure that your child comes to school dressed to match current weather conditions. Our nurse is unable to provide jackets or sweatshirts to those who have forgotten them. Unless temperatures are in the teens, it is raining steadily, or there is a severe wind-chill factor, students DO go out for recess to get some fresh air, take a break, and run off energy. Also, please understand that we cannot accommodate requests for students to stay in the classroom during recess. Classroom teachers supervise recess on a rotating basis, so the teacher may have recess duty on that particular day. If the teacher doesn’t have duty, there is no guarantee that he/she will be in the classroom during recess, since that time is often reserved for returning phone calls, making copies, or attending scheduled meetings. If you are concerned about limiting your child’s activity level, please remind him/her that he/she can still enjoy outside recess by sitting at a picnic table or on a swing, or by walking around and socializing with friends.
