Please see the detailed information below about Graduation for the Class of 2020. There has been quite a bit of hard work and planning. We are doing our best to make this an exciting and enjoyable experience for all.
It has been stated many times but there will not be anything that will replace what has been missed however I am hopeful that we are able to properly celebrate you and your accomplishments with your family, friends, and your teachers.

Dublin Jerome Graduation 2020
Pre-Recorded Ceremony
Graduation Procession and In-Person Diploma Reception
Sunday, May 24 at 1:00 p.m., we will be providing seniors with an opportunity to walk across an outdoor stage and receive their diploma in-person. This drive-through procession will be carefully socially distanced The event is expected to take several hours and will take place in phases. We remain under strict orders not to facilitate any mass gatherings at this point in time.
PLEASE SEE MAPS AND DETAILS BELOW FOR THIS EVENT
- The plans have been approved by the health department and we will take precautions to keep all students, families, and staff safe.
- All working staff will be wearing masks.
- Graduates will not have to wear a mask but family members are encouraged to wear masks.
Graduate Procession Details
Vehicles:
- Graduates and their families should arrive in a passenger vehicle. The graduate should be on the passenger side of the vehicle and other family members may ride in the car.
- ONE CAR/Student will be permitted. Families with multiple graduates may discuss special arrangements with the building principal if needed.
- Families and graduates are encouraged to decorate their vehicles, use a convertible, jeep, etc. (Please no boats, trailers, dualies, limos, helicopters, RVs, etc.)
Arrival:
- Families will arrive during staggered assigned WAVE TIMES. Each wave will be asked 30 minutes prior to the start of the procession, no earlier. We will begin the procession to the stage promptly at the assigned time.
- We will not assemble in strict alphabetic order just in a general wave grouping.
- If a graduate arrives late, they will be moved to the next wave.
Graduates and Family:
- Graduates should dress appropriately under their cap and gown. Don't forget your awards and tassel. SENIORS MAY ALSO DECORATE THEIR CAPS. This is not typically allowed but due to the circumstances, we encourage seniors to do something creative and fun to celebrate. Please be sure they are school appropriate.
- No family members will be permitted to get out of the car. The student will re-join their family in the car and follow the continuous route and exit the school property.
- Other extended family relatives and friends may enjoy your child receiving their diploma via live stream (specific details about where to find the link will be shared late next week.)
Procession Route Overview

Phase 1: Arrival Student Lot
- WAVE ARRIVAL TIMES
- Please arrive at your assigned time.
- Enter the student lot at the Brand Rd. east entrance. RIGHT TURNS ONLY into the lot.
- Families that come from Hyland-Croy will be asked to use the Brand/Avery roundabout to enter the east entrance.
- Wave begin the procession to the stage at the designated time.
Phase 2: Procession to Stage
Procession to the stage begins with a lead vehicle (staff volunteer)
Phase 3: Approach to Stage, Graduate Walk, and Diploma Pick-Up
- Cars will continue toward the stage. At the "Y" graduates will exit the vehicle and begin walking to the stage. No more than 3 graduates will be waiting at a time greater than 6-ft apart.
- Families will remain in their vehicles and proceed to the front of the stage.
- Once to the stage, the graduate will have their name read, receive their diploma, and have a professional photo taken.
- Families will be able to enjoy this moment together.
- Graduates will move off the stage to pick up diploma packets and will re-enter their vehicle.
Phase 4: Exit
- Graduates and their families follow the marked route to the exit.
- CELEBRATE!
Other Important Senior Info
Senior Awards Ceremony
Cap and Gown Distribution/Materials Return
- CCP/IB textbooks should be returned. We will be sure to get those items to Emerald Campus.
- All Jerome textbooks, library books, and other items that are school-issued.
- If you have athletic uniforms, please seal in a plastic bag with your name. There will be bins for return. You may also reach out to your coach with questions.
- Items such as instruments, choir tuxedos, etc. will have arranged times by those specific teachers. If you have any questions, please contact your teacher.
- If you have personal items that need to be returned or questions, please contact Mrs. Barb Bailey.
- Seniors must turn in their Chromebooks at Emerald Campus (T, W,Th, 10-2 pm)

Take Your Google Drive Files with you!
It is time to start moving your files out of your school Google Drive and into a personal account. Once you graduate, you will no longer have access to any of these files. Please use Google Transfer or MultCloud (or another option of your choice) to move your files before May 19. If you need any assistance please email Amy Kline (kline_amy@dublinschools.net).
